Lower was walking in the catacombs of the Coda Caves. The sound of her many parchment pieces rustled as she shoveled through them, trying to find her previous day's work. The parchment papers were inscribed with charts of the night sky, notes on the site about the exact stars shown, where they land, what constellation they make up, and more. Lower gently pulled a paper from the pile, scanning it's information as the winding tunnel led back to her work place, the Coda Caves Library. She set the parchment on her desk, sorting out each paper into piles. From piles, they went into folders, then from folders to shelves.

As Lower sat, she rested her head in her hand. Working as a scribe had the same effect on her energy as erosion takes on stone. But for Lower, being a scribe was the most she could hope for. She was born into a poor family who had worked for every last coin to send her to be a scribe in the Coda Caves. Lower had always longed for a better life as a scholar, perhaps even a top adviser. She wasn't a dull girl, despite her social position, and no one sought her out to be one. As far as Lower thought, she would be inscribing parchment with records to support herself and her family until she passed peacefully.

Lower managed to bring herself to her tiring feet. She struggled along back through the caverns, glancing with her strained eyes for her home in the caves. Lower made her way into her small home, pulling the curtain closing it shut. When she sat on her soft bed, needle pricks shot up her back. She knew she worked longer than she should have, as sitting in her observatory and library chairs had her back stiff. She managed to lie back in the small bed, using the last of her strength to bring the quilts up for warmth. Her eyes gave way to the day's exhaustion; She was out cold in a matter of seconds.

The morning came, but no one in the caves could see it. The sun's warming embrace was long withing the echoes of never ending rock. The scribes of the Coda Caves record information of the night sky, so the day is their resting time. Lower had slept until 1 a.m. Lower sat up and stretched, turning her desk lamp on. The small light illuminated her small section of a room. The night before, Lower had been working on a mystery she discovered in one of her research parchments. It was an unknown shape, too distant to be a star, as they all had been recorded. Too big to be a speck of dust in the telescope lens. She was close to discovering what the strange anomoly was, but it would have to wait for later. Her stomach was a ravenous lion, waiting for it's next meal.

Lower brought herself up, fixing her Scribe robe. She brushed her short hair in the small vanity mirror she possessed, accepting that she looked decent enough to be outside of the caves. Before heading out to the nearest food market, she hurried back to the Coda Library to gather her parchment pieces and a magnifying glass. She placed her items in a small bag she carried around her shoulder. Lower quickly shuffled out of the confinement that was the caves and hopped on the next boat to Veta. There she grabbed a wicker basket and filled it with some plump fruits and heart vegetables to be made into a meal.

After purchasing, she traveled by foot to Pete, where he would whip her up a quick meal with the ingredients she bought. She scarfed down her quick meal, pulling out the gathered papers and magnifying glass as she sat at a near by park table. She inspected the one piece closely. She thought to herself for a few moments. "...No, it couldn't be...is it? It looks just like..." It clicked in her head, and she had done it. It wasn't just a smudge on the page, it was a whole new galaxy. She squeaked in excitement, carefully stuffing the parchments back into the pouch, and zooming back to the caves.

The Coda Caves were still the Coda Caves. People with assignments and places to go, research to be done to help the rest of the Subeta world. Lower headed to one of the upper scholars of the cave, and presented her findings. In amazement, he submitted the work to the ones in charge of the cave research. Lower was on her way to becoming a credited scribe with the word of an entire new galaxy. There, of course, were more questions to ask about this galaxy and even more research to be done about it.

Excerpt from The Great Scholars of the Past: "The turning point of outer space discoveries took place on November 17th, 2010. Just a Scribe at the time, Lower Kinsley worked for the Coda Caves Library, taking charts of the night sky. While taking note, she discovered another galaxy on one of her charts. After submitting this information, outer space research expanded beyond our galaxy and to the thousands still yet to be named. Lower moved on to become a top scholar outside of the Coda Caves, leading the developments we still have today."
