The scientists of Atebus will try to tell you that the stars are just other suns burning far far away in space, but the galactic pets know better. How could you wish on a falling star, or catch a falling star and put in in your pocket if it was really a giant burning sun that was billions of miles away?
Stars are alive.
Stars can get damaged.
Star-menders patch broken stars, polish the tarnished ones, and relight the ones whose shine has dimmed.
...But no one bothers to look up at the stars much anymore.
