I found some brown paint today. It looked giraffe spot coloured so I got a paint brush and made some nice giraffe looking splotches on myself. It took a lot of work! Luckily I'm very flexible so I could reach all over my body. The upper part of my neck was a bit difficult though. They looked great! Unfortunately when I went swimming in the lake my spots disappeared. Paint doesn't work.
Earning My Spots: Attempt Two:
I found some glue and brown paper today. I cut the paper into some odd shapes that look liked giraffe spots, then I glued them all over me. They didn't really blend in with my fur but they looked nice enough. They kept getting caught on branches and pulling off though, and pulling some of my fur with them! Glue and paper does't work, It did give me another idea though...
Earning My Spots: Attempt Three:
The paper and glue pulling my fur off gave me an idea. I got some sticky hot wax and splotched it over my fur. Then using strips of paper I pulled it off. It HURT. But once I was done I was covered in spots! But they were pink and didn't look that nice. It didn't take long for the fur to grow back either. Wax doesn't work.
Earning My Spots: Attempt Four:
I had another idea with glue...I once again painted glue splotches onto my fur. Then I rolled around in the dirt. The dirt stuck to my fur and I ended up with some nice dusty looking spots! It didn't last long though. Like the paint it washed off when I went swimming. Glue and dirt doesn't work.
Earning My Spots: Attempt Five:
It was a really hot day today, the sun bearing down gave me another idea. I put sunscreen all over me, but left some spaces bare. Then I layed in the sun for hours and hours and hours. I was really hoping the sun would tan my exposed fur and make some natural looking spots. Unfortunately it didn't work at all. The sunscreen just made me feel greasy. The Sun doesn't work.
Earning My Spots: Attempt Six:
I decided I needed to rethink my strategy. Maybe instead of making spots of my fur ,darker, I could make some of it lighter. I managed to get hold of some bleach and rubbed it over me, leaving splotches bare. If this worked, I would finally have spots, very light spots, but spots nonetheless. A minute or so after applying the bleach though my skin was burning like crazy! I ran and washed it off as quickly as I could. My fur was a little lighter and I had some slight spots, but it soon grew out and went back to a solid colour. Bleach doesn't work.
Earning My Spots: Attempt Seven:
I managed to get hold of some human hair dye. I thought it would work on my fur and it looked like the right colour...so I rubbed it over my fur in spots and waited. I rinsed it off and I had wonderful looking spots! They were gorgeous! But even though the dye claimed to be permanent it faded and grew out. Hair Dye doesn't work.
Time to go back to the drawing board...One day I know I will get my spots, after all, who has ever heard of a spotless giraffe?
