Skathos, the Prince of Arthema, was trained in the ways of the hunt, and everyday when dusk came, he ventured out into the woods to hunt.
One day, he found a girl asleep in the woods by herself. Seeing that it was dangerous for her to be out in the woods at night, he escorted her to the gates of Arthema. The next day, Skathos went to the woods earlier than usual and saw the girl sitting in the same spot he saw her the day before. The girl introduced herself as Cressia, Princess of Apollus. Knowing that interacting with a citizen of Apollus was forbidden, Skathos still revealed his identity. Despite their kingdoms being rivals, Skathos and Cressia soon became friends and secretly met with each other in the same spot everyday. They both knew that the rivalry of their kingdoms was stupid, so they came up with a plan to stop the rivalry. They planned that when they both came of proper age, they would marry each other for the two kingdoms to be united.
When Skathos was finally ready to marry, he suggested to his father that he would marry the Princess of Arthema. he had revealed that for the past years, he had been seeing her in secret and had found her to be a suitable bride. His father and mother were outraged at the thought and forbade him from ever leaving the kingdom. However, he often escaped to see the princess.
A spy saw one of their meetings and immediately reported this to the king. Knowing that nothing would bind him from seeing her, the King hired the Dioneses, a secret wizard organization that dealt with dark magic, to cast a spell on the prince to stop him from ever seeing the princess again. Little did the king know that Apollus' king had also hired the Dioneses to do the same thing. The Dioneses finally cast the spell and the fabrics of Time and Space were ripped and distorted. When the king woke up, his son, Skathos was nowhere to be found. The Dioneses went back to the king and told him that his son became the night and that the Princess of Apollus was the day. Forever chasing each other in an endless cycle, never able to catch up with each other.
