Now that's a big WIP...

"--so sorry, I wasn't aware that anyone else was up here this season. Do you get many visitors? Probably not trampling in, I suppose." The young man ran a hand through the back of his frosted hair, wetness beginning to run down the back of his hot neck, mingling with sweat and rolling down his tense muscles.
"I wouldn't worry so much," the young woman said, her white blonde hair, bounced curls, eyes roving over him with an indeterminable scrutiny, emotions lurking behind a veil of black pupil, "you were quite right to find shelter. If I were to guess, another snowstorm, perhaps worse than the last, is about to roll through. I've an assortment of teas and a small tin of coffee left, though I am sure it is quite old at this point--shall I put the kettle or the percolator on?"
"Uhm, Tea, please, tea would be fine, thank you."
"Perfect," she said, her fingers gently trailing down the collection of tea boxes, a small line of dust accumulating on the tips, "Herbal, green, or black? If you say herbal, I'm quite afraid we'll be here for a while."
"Green is fine, thank you, ah, Miss...?"
My name?"It's... Erias." was it?
"That's an interesting name. Is it irish, or like," he looked at her upturned eyebrows and let out a chuckle, "I don't know, haha. Some kind of ancient greek? I've just never heard a name like that before, it's interesting."
"If that's a compliment, I'll take it." Her eyes, roving over him, seemed now to be distant, perhaps not looking at him, but looking into something beyond him, something connected to him, and yet not at all.
"Perhaps... I should gather wood for the fire, before the storm draws near. Do so acquaint yourself more with my home, as I have the finest taste of antiques, I'm sure you'll see. The green tea is on the top shelf, here," she pointer, "and the kettle already has water on it, you just need to put it over the wood stove. I'll be back shortly." She delivered a quick half-nod, half-curtsy before striding casually towards the door, pulling her newly knitted soft, blue scarf up to her pale, ghostly skin.
It was only when the door closed did she feel the fear begin to sink inward like sinking into water, like darkness creeping into your vision as your eyes close and the candles dwindle out.

Erias felt the cold radiating, and it gave her form strength to manifest in full. No longer was she just a haze, a vague shade of who she once was so many years ago. As soon as she remembered her grasped shape, however, the memories flooded back in, and for a split second, she found herself, in the frosted glade, shivering, skin turning purple and blue, her fingers unable to move, rigid like the dead. She stared up at the sun and begged for warmth, but nothing came. In the harsh white light of day, she lay down next to the ice-encrusted brush and watched as birds fluttered from tree to tree until she saw nothing at all.
