Ginga_502 has a minion!

the Stars

When you look up to the night sky, what do you see? Do you see a shadowy blue ocean of nothing as the city-dwellers do, or is there a swarm of lights twinkling above your head? If you see the stars, you’re seeing my efforts shining forth. My name is Ginga Mazzaroth Aureliae, and it is a pleasure to meet you. I am what is called a star sprite, a being who creates and arranges stars. While the celestial lights existed long before my fellow sprites and I came into being, it has become our duty to maintain them. I specifically maintain the stars in the Milky Way galaxy, home to my favourite planet, Earth. The life-forms are so interesting and unique from one another, it puzzles me as to how so many opposing forces have coexisted for so long. The scenery is always so very breathtaking; shimmering, man-made buildings of metal overlook small neighborhoods where the humans live, and the entire planet is full of such interesting environments. Some cities are so full of dazzlingly bright lights, as if to outdo the splendorous stars they hide. I am particularly fond of spending time on a calm mountain in northern Russia. The chill is familiar to space, and the golden and blue daisies that bloom mysteriously within the caves of that nameless mountain are so stunningly beautiful, yet I do not understand how they survive in the icy heights. Whatever the reason, these flowers have inspired me to collect various plantlife of my own-... Oh goodness me! I’ve gone rambling again, hardly speaking a word about anything other than Earth! May I be strangled by Orion’s belt for not correcting that habit by now! ... Excuse me for that outburst. Moving away from that, allow me to tell you more about myself. I am a lover of all things bright and lovely, not only stars and flowers. Literature and musical arts are fine ways to pass the time, although I am normally too busy to partake in either. I quite enjoy my job as a sprite, so I always perform my duties to the fullest and in a timely manner. My holidays are at similar time periods as the holidays on Earth, and I look forward to my time off and work equally. I am, admittedly, fairly short compared to humans, as well as my own kind for that matter. However I am an adult, and pride myself in behaving like one. I have a fairly large family with twelve siblings. Sadly I get along with only one of them, my older brother Corvus. My other siblings, however, are not entirely fond of me, as I am the only one chosen out of them eligible for promotion to the rank of sun sprite. This is my dream, to be permitted to create and arrange entire suns. Corvus has never shown interest in the rank to begin with, giving him no reason to despise me like the others. That reminds me, would you like to know where my name comes from? My family name, Aureliae, is from my race’s native tongue and means ‘lighting path’. It is traditional to name the children of my family with Earth names, which leads to my first and middle name. My first name, Ginga, is a Japanese word meaning ‘galaxy’, and my middle name, Mazzaroth, is a Hebrew word meaning ‘constellation’. My middle name was passed down from my grandfather, a renowned sun sprite whom I have great respect for. Well, I think I’ve said enough. Thank you for listening, and farewell!
