Amerindio grew up in a large city, spending much of his younger years in the streets selling flowers for his grandmother. Lately she had not been well, and the two of them relied heavily on their cart to put food on the table. Day after day he would look up to the void sky after work, asking himself why he was burdened to grow up in such an unsavory place. Indy would daydream about living in the mysterious place where the flowers came from. All he did was sell the damn things. His heart ached to smell fresh mountain air, and drink cool and crisp spring water. He wanted to travel far way from all the unnatural noise, violence, and stress of the city.

"Where do you think you're going mister?" exclaimed Gram.
"I'm just heading to the Vesnali festival, can't I have one day off Gram?" called Indy.
"But we can't afford to close today! Especially because it's Vesnali, Indy. That's when business is at its best for folks like us."
"Can't you just watch the cart for a few hours? I promise I'll be back by lunch, ok?"
"Well... alright. You be careful now. Tell me all about the flowers!"
"I will."


Indy couldn't believe his ears! With that, he bounded off to Main Street to meet his friends. The whole day was beyond spectacular. For once the hustle and bustle was seen in a positive light to Indy. The smell of spring lingered in the breeze. Performers and artists from as far as Sacred Lands were here! He couldn't believe how many flowers the upper class vendors had. The rarest of roses and most exotic of floral arrangements were available for more sP than he could make a week! Just when the day seemed too good to be true, he heard shouts and screaming in the distance.

"That sounds like it's coming from our street..." whispered Indy under his breath.

Instantly he took off, knocking over anyone and everyone in his path.

"Move, move, MOVE!" he huffed.

When Indy saw what lay before him, he could not breathe. The lifeless figure pressed against the concrete was Gram. She wasn't breathing... or moving... or anything. He ran up to her, pushing aside the police, demanding what happened.

"I'm sorry son, a thief came and smashed her cart. My condolences to you and your family," the cop responded.

"She is my family! I'm all she has. And I let her down. She wasn't strong enough to even leave the house, let alone fight off a god damn criminal. This is all my fault. This... this... is all my fault" whimpered Indy.

That night, after saying his goodbyes to his only family, Indy ran. He ran faster and harder than ever before. He ran past the city limits into the suburbs. When he got to the forest, he pushed on harder. Finally, he found himself deep in the wilderness. When a moon passed, he reached a meadow beyond a waterfall. It stretched all the way to a lake. It wasn't until he saw the flowers that he didn't take another step. There were so many. The scent was absolutely exquisite. For the first time since Gram's death, he felt dazed. He felt at peace. Everything fell into place at that very moment.

"The flowers are beyond beautiful Gram" he said.

And that's when he knew he was home.
