It's easier to live without food than without grooming

They always say never judge a book by its cover, and that is exactly the case for Jewel. Jewel wears glamorous pearls and perfume every day, and her fur is always spotless and soft as if it had just been worked on by the finest professional in the area. There is a sense of lady-like elegance in her walk, a certain pride in her words, and a big sunny smile that never seems to vanish off her face. Anyone that sees her would say, "Oh, what a beautiful Sheeta, she must belong to a millionaire somewhere in this city."Little do they know, Jewel is actually very poor - poor and homeless. Underneath all that volumized furriness, Jewel is thinner than most Sheeta of her size, which could be due to the fact that she hasn't had a regular meal for months. Jewel has no place to call home, and the only decent place she can rest in peace is under the roof of some random shops after hours. Moreover, Jewel has to fend for herself against other obnoxious strays and evil pet hunters from the Veta pound. The very thought of losing her freedom terrifies her. Jewel would always protest, "It's not right to cage us like we are some kind of object for sale!" Yet, as rough as it may all sound, Jewel always makes sure to keep her fur shiny and clean. Every day, she searches gutters, cracks in the pavements, and under chairs in the park for coins or anything valuable to sell for money. Make no mistake though, this money never goes to food; instead, they become either her salon expense or beauty care payments. Of course, Jewel could never gather enough money for a proper treatment or even a regularly priced perfume or brush, but thanks to some generous owners of the Centropolis shops, they always secretly give her a huge discount... Ha! You didn't actually believe that, did you? Of course they didn't WANT to give her a discount. However, thanks to Jewel's excessive stalking and tireless pestering day and night, night and day, Jewel was able to get what she wanted.

Life wasn't always so uncertain for Jewel though. She once belonged to a wealthy old woman who ran a jewelry store a few blocks down from the Millionaire Center in Centropolis. Jewel loved to wander in the store, inspecting the newly imported accessories for the season. At night, she'd curl up next to the old lady, put her head on her lap, and watch her make her own necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Jewel adored jewels and pink colored fluffy cute things that any other little girl would love, and she often watched through the giant glass window of the shop on a warm afternoon, daydreaming and waiting for a prince to magically appear and take her away. Unfortunately, that peaceful and carefree life only lasted a few years. Soon after the economy crashed with a series of outrageous inflation and deflation, the old lady found herself no longer able to keep her shop running. On one snowy winter day, she finally packed her bags and boarded the last train to Riverside. Before the old lady left Centropolis, she made Jewel one last dinner, and put the only valuable necklace that she treasured around Jewel's horns. "When I make enough money, I will come back for you." Those were the last few words Jewel heard.

Naive as she has always been, Jewel watched the old lady stumble through the thick snow and finally disappear into the darkness. She waited outside the old, closed down shop for weeks until the tenant finally chased her away. She knew somewhere deep in her heart that the old lady might never come back, yet she was hopeful. "She'll be back tomorrow." She'd always say with that big sunny smile on her face.

-------------------- OWNER'S CORNER --------------------

As for the fate of the old lady, Jewel's formal owner, unfortunately she passed away after she departed Centropolis, after years of suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis. No, I'm just kidding. She didn't die; she was working in Riverside for awhile until she decided to visit her children in Delphi during Christmas. And ever since she discovered the beautiful beach and lovely weather in Delphi, she has been enjoying the life as a freeloader (this is why we have children). It is quite obvious that Jewel will not be getting her owner back anytime soon.

Sometimes during the profile making, Jewel's owner (the real owner) had an unexpected encounter with a group of Puppy Love in her study room...
