Summer is my favorite season. The sun is so bright and warm, and yet it can be downright hot at times. Usually you will feel a slight breeze in the air, just enough to cool you down a bit.
I love to watch the leaves swaying in the trees, the birds chirping and singing, flying around gathering food for their babies. You will see the bluest of skies in the summer. Sometimes the big blue sky will be spattered with beautiful white fluffy clouds and on occasion those clouds will float lazily on by. Often times you can just watch the clouds and pretend they turn into and become various animals and other shapes. Sometimes i can see an elephant, a train, or even a flower.
But the best part of summer is spending time at the beach. How I love the beach, the waves, the breeze and the smell of the sea air. Not to mention school is finally out, and there is a freedom in the air that only summer can bring. Sometimes when I am at the beach I like to go for a long slow walk right along the waters edge. As I walk along often times i will scan the sand for sea shells, sea glass, sand dollars and other treasures. The thing I love most is that it is like shopping, only it is free.
People watching can also be a whole lot of fun, there are so many characters it seems at the beach. There are many different varieties of people. How different each and every person really is and how very interesting they are. I can just watch them for hours. Hours go by without a notice and often times i wonder where the time has gone. And then before you know it, summer is at it's end. School starts over once again and you wait with eager anticipation for the next years summer break. Hopefully another year older and wiser.
