A Little Girl's Life
Seshat was luckier then many of the children in Victorian London. Her parents had raised her in a beautiful house with a large garden and a staff that took care of almost everything. For her education her parents had arranged for a private tutor so the could ensure she had a proper education. Although the part that she loved the most about the life her parents provided her was the expansive private library her father had collected over his lifetime. Every night she would sit with her father by the fireplace and listen to him read stories from all over the world.
The Garden
As she got older, she would sneak down to the library and take a specific book from her father's collection about life in the New World. While all the other children were outside playing, Seshat could be seen sitting in the garden with her nose buried in a book. She day dreamed about riding in airships and visiting the city of New York.
The Dream's of Children
One day her father came home and found her reading in the garden and asked her what she wanted to do in a few years once she became an adult. Seshat looked at him and proudly declared that she wanted to be a writer so she could tell amazing stories just like the ones he had read to her when she was little. Her father allowed himself a small chuckle and told her that he had no doubt in his mind that she would be an incredible writer if she put her mind to it.
A New Chapter
Just before her eighteenth birthday her parents sent her on an airship to visit their family in the New World. Seshat was elated, she would finally get to experience some of the things she had spent so many years reading about. She arrived in New York on the morning of her birthday, and when she went to leave her state room she found a neatly wrapper parcel sitting beside her door. Inside was a writing set, a journal, and a letter from her father stuck to the book she used to take from his library. In the note he told her to go experience the New World and begin her life as a writer, and once she was done, to come home and read it to him. Seshat shed a single tear, for the faith and love her father had always shown her, and put her newly received gift in her traveling case. As she disembarked the air ship she knew that this was the beginning of a new, exciting chapter in her life.
