Every galactic pet, from the Aeanoid to the Xotl all have a specific purpose in the evening sky. Some create stars, planets, black holes and entire galaxies. Others choose and cast the very shooting stars that we see across the night sky to wish on. Some, like the Noktoa have jobs that no one even knows what exactly their job entails just that speaking of it is a highly punishable offense. All jobs are important however, for without everyone the night sky just wouldn't be the same.
The Galactic Dragarth had always been tasked with the job of holding up the stars in the sky. You didn't think they just hung there on their own did you now? Of course not! Dragarth's their nights assigned to a star, keeping it upright so it can shine in the night sky. When their star died, or was chosen to shoot across the night sky they would move on to a new star. And the process would repeat itself for all their lives.
Everyone was content with their duties, knowing what they did was important to keep the balance and structure of the sky. Oryon, wanted more though. The older Dragarths told him to be patient, that his desires were just a phase he would get over, just like they had. His destiny was predetermined and there was nothing he could do about it. Or so they all thought.
Holding up a star all night was a pretty boring task, so it left Oryon a lot of time to think, and his favourite thing to think about was the planet below them. There wasn't too much he knew about the world below, except just how different it was from his own. There was more than just sky, there was land, water and trees. Or so he had been told. He often would dream about seeing everything with his own eyes.
One evening his currently star had been chosen to become a shooting star so Oryon was assigned to a new star. This new one happened to be a newborn star. Oryon was so excited as most stars were old, grumpy and boring but usually baby stars were the opposite. He was going to teach this little guy so much.He started off telling the little star all about shooting stars, and how the people of Subeta believed that they could grant their wishes if they saw one dash across the night sky. For a star, being chosen to become a shooting star was the highest honour. The star's eye lit up on hearing this, and before Oryon could say another word the star took off towards the planet of Subeta, becoming a shooting star.
"Wait no! Stop!" Oryon yelled at the baby star, chasing after it but this little guy was bound and determined to become a shooting star, and unfortunately for Oryon young newborn stars were notorious for being fast and endless balls of energy. It wasn't long before he noticed they were both quickly leaving the night's sky and entering the planet's atmosphere. He could turn back now, leaving the baby star or he could change his fate, and start a new life on the planet he had spent every night of his life looking down on.
Oryon never looked back even once.
