The power to protect?

The power to conqueror?

The power to seek revenge?

The power to find freedom?

It is a deceiving question in itself, but one that all Spirit Apparits or Spirit Beasts ask the person they have chosen to be their masters. Once The Contract of Sealing is cemented between a Spirit Apparits and a human, the beast will give all of itself to his master. The beast must obey and protect his master to fullest of its abilities. The beast is unable to lie, deceive, or harm its master in any way.

However, it is said that nothing in this world is free. While the young child is given all the power of Apparits, the Spirit Beast holds that which is most precious to the child. Should the Spirit Beast be die, then that which is most precious to his master will also disappear.

Most people foolishly believe that it is their own life they are risking when they fight with the Spirit Beasts. How bitterly it stings when they finally learn the true nature of the question. To see their Spirit Beast, a reflection of the power of their own soul, be defeated is shattering. Then the realization hits...

For many it is family or a special person close to their hearts they have unknowingly risked. The young solider finds his whole reason for fitting vanished along with his defeated Spirit Beast. Or the young girl, who wished for freedom suddenly finds herself shackled. Or the cunning young man suddenly finds he no longer has any power at all. Different people risk different things.



Echeyakee says his name means "White Mist" in some language, but there is no real way to confirm it. Though the "translation" does fit since he can dissipate into mists. He has served several strong and pure people in his lifetime and has never been defeated.

Yet, his newest master is so very different. She has a tendency to be weak and scared. She is scared to fight and to hurt. Scared to win, scared to be used. Though she does trust her new Spirit Beast will all of her heart. In fact, she is unique to any other Master, because she loves Echeyakee more than anything in the world.

What she risks most is her dearest friend. Her heart's noble desires, the light of her life; she risks Echeyakee himself.
