The Fallen

It's not easy, being on your own. Then again, nobody ever said it was. Monelle found this out the hard and rather quick way.

4 years of High School courses, 3 years of college, a summer course and a couple of odd jobs here and there, and what does she have to show for it? A dinky certificate framed on the wall of her room that says she can write, and an apartment shared in the company of two cats. Granted, she's been at it for about a year or so and so far she hasn't hit rock bottom, but spending your days at home trying to find something to keep food on the table and the bills paid is harder than trying to give a rather unfriendly feline his regular bath.

Through her determination and fairly decent sense of responsibility, she's managed to keep herself from losing her head for this long, that in itself could be considered an achievement for some. She only hopes it's all worth it in the long run.
