Claudius's eyes are a bright, almost cobalt blue and framed by dark blonde hair they are rather attractive. But it isn't his eyes which are the first thing most often noticed by strangers, it's the splint on his left hand. He was abused as a child, one wrist was particularly badly injured resulting in some nerve damage--the thumb and first two fingers of his left hand have no movement and moving his left wrist causes him severe pain. The reason his mother gave for abusing him was his being a Type 1 Therian. Able to bring out feline claws, ears and a tail he learned quickly to hide the traits and not experiment with them or else risk his mother's wrath. It wasn't until he was an adult that he really understood, his mother was acting out of her own insecurities and fears--afraid of what people would think of her for having a son so 'abnormal'. But, by then he'd learned to fear discovery as a Therian--even though his form is the mildest type.

Keeping so much of himself hidden, Claudius took up an interest in art as a means of expressing himself. Drawing animals and people turned into wondering how they worked--not mechanically, but mentally and emotionally. Why a dog comes to greet some it had never met before. Why some birds travel in large groups, but others seem to be alone and only gather to eat. The way some people will smile and show their teeth when they're happy, and others will do the same when they're sad.

His studies turned more toward psychology, both human and animal and he pursued an education focused around psychology in the field of 'art therapy' and a minor in 'animal behaviour'. Using the two fields together he has been studying the mental balance between the 'animal self' and 'human self' within the minds of many Therians.

Therian Types Explained:

1 - Human Dominant, if in 'animal form' they have only a very few traits such as the animal ears and tail, eyes and fangs--2 to 3 traits total and can appear fully human.
2 - Human Dominant, if in 'animal form' they posess from 4 to 5 traits such as claws, ears, eyes, fangs and tail. In 'human form' one or two traits are still evident--usually eyes, sometimes fangs or another trait.
3 - Human Dominant, if in more 'human form' 4 to 6 traits still show, can shift to a fully animal form but cannot shift to fully or 'nearly' normal-human appearance (always obviously a Therian).
4 - Animal Dominant, if in more 'human form' they appear very like a Type 3 however their internal structures and senses are far more animalistic, instincts are keener--however they they are still Humans.
