The relentless wind blew sand across the battlefield, obscuring the recently fallen. Those that had died would quickly become unidentifiable, the particles of sand scouring any sign that the vanquished had once been alive.

Watching from the summit of a dune, the Commander for the Royal Saheric Military lowered her eyes. Her gaze fell upon the body of a flag bearer positioned at her feet. Crouching down, she turned the body over and met the youngster's dead stare. He had barely begun to grow scruff on his chin, he had no business being out in the battlefield! More will be forced into this war, one that they had no hope at winning. The invading force used sinister dark magic that could not be countered. She blinked back unshed tears for her slain comrads.

The sand will claim many more today. Knowing that the fight was hopeless, she raised her voice in prayer, reaching out to the ancient spirits who roamed the desert. A tear escaped her eyes and landed upon the flag, partially buried within the granulated surface of sand. The heraldic standard of the Saheric Army could still be seen stitched upon the flag. A bold purple Archan stood proudly upon the golden field. The Commander's tears began to stain the image as she continued to weep and pray.

As the army approached, she could hear the dissonant chords of their spells.

Suddenly a beam of sunlight sliced through the surrounding sandstorm and illuminated the fallen banner. A deafening roar pierced the battlefield and stopped the diabolical magic of the invaders. Another feline roar joined the first. A flurry of wind seemed to rise up from the Archan emblazoned fabric. Then the iconic image of the land's protective Archan stepped forth. Protesting the presence of the enemy, the glowing Archan charged, felling several invaders with one swipe of her razor sharp claws. Wild Archans joined the fight, having heard the cat's defiant bellow. Within moments the startled intruders perished, no match for the gigantic cats' accelerated fighting style.

Saherimos was saved! As one, the Saheric military bowed down to the great cats, thanking them and the ancient desert spirits. With a swish of their tails, the wild Archans departed.

The Commander noticed there was one Archan remaining. The massive cat who responded to her heartfelt words. The regal cat bumped her head under the Commander's hand, forcing her to stroke the oddly vibrant fur. Meeting the cat's gaze, she thanked her for saving the land. The vibrant Archan purred.
