the amazing jian!

When little gamer nerds go to sleep at night, they dream of being able to beat the legendary fightingxtigerx246. This, of course, never will happen. No matter how little homework they have, or how much homework they're willing to blow off, they'll never be able to beat a twenty-three year old with no job, and a video game history that dates back to before these junior high students were even born. You see, Jian Chang is a legend. His characters are always in the top leveled and top scoring ranking for pretty much every game that ever mattered. There is good reason for this, too.
The first reason is that Jian is Asian. It is obvious that everyone is good at whatever their country of origin is good at. Example? White Americans are really good at eating cheeseburgers and gaining weight. Jian is really good at video games. It balances out. The second reason is that Jian is smart. If he were not so, he would not have been able to pass through school with decent enough grades to shut his parents up, while having all the time in the world to blow off homework. The third reason is that Jian's parents are wealthy enough to pay to get their lazy son out of their basement and into an apartment with four other people who don't care much if they don't get to use the TV or computer twenty hours out of the day. They also, for that matter, don't mind always losing to Jian in Mario Kart, because unlike him, they "have a life". The fourth reason is that Jian has never cared much for those three words. You know, the ones about having a life. In his opinion, most people are stupid and dramatic and it's better to simply vent your frustration by shooting monsters and blowing shit up.
As chance would have it, Jian is not a three hundred pound drooling recluse. He has kissed a girl (more than one. and he's gotten past first base). He does have friends. They just have to live with the fact that he will beat them in every arcade game ever, by a landslide. They have to be the thick-skinned kind of friends, however, as Jian has a bit of an annoying tendency of being...well, a bit annoying. He's loud, sarcastic, lazy, a bit of a braggart, and loves nothing better than yelling insults at people. Sure, he's a bit hilarious, and it's easy to discount his pwning when one acknowledges the fact that the only thing he does with his life is play video games, but it takes the mature person to put up with him.
When it comes down to it, not many people would want to go through the trouble of putting up with Jian for long periods of time. In the end, most people grudgingly harbor a love-hate relationship for the biggest geek to ever geek.
