Chopper is a reindeer that consumed the Hito Hito no Mi fruit (human fruit) and is able to change his appearance in different situations. Chopper is the sixth member to join the straw hat pirates and takes the position of a doctor, though his bounty is only 50 Beli as he was considered to be the 'pet' of the crew.

Chopper was born in the grand line more pacifically Drum Island, he was born with a blue nose that had already set him apart from his herd, however when chopper at the Hito Hito no Mi fruit he was completely ignored by the other reindeer's in the herd. Determined to fit in somewhere Chopper headed to a group of villagers, although when they saw him they thought he was the Abominable snowman and was shot at.

Laying in the snow with his wounds a quack doctor by the name of Hiluluk found him and treated him. There chopper had found his role-model and a place to belong. Although this did not last long as Dr Hiluluk became ill and instead of having chopper watch him die, Dr Hiluluk left him out in the cold. Determined to help his role model Chopper set out to find a mushroom that could heal the quack doctor, though this mushroom did not have that affect Dr Hiluluk ate it anyway to show his love and appreciation to his student. Though Chopper soon learnt from another doctor that the mushroom he gave had a lethal amount of poison.

Dr Hiluluk's last wish was to have Dr Kureha take in Chopper and teach him about medicine the proper way, with this chopper worked as hard as he could to become a doctor just like his role model.
