Why Horses?

Have you ever ridden a horse? Or watched one run freely, as fast as they possibly could, just to have a good time? They are graceful, and beautiful, and full of pure power. I love riding. The rush it gives, to know that a thin nylon rope or some leather can give me control is like nothing I've ever felt before. You do not simply ride a horse, you act as a team, and nothing else around you matters. Time stops, worries of the world are forgotten, and it comes down to just you and the horse; you and your friend.

Yes, horses cost money, and they're upkeep can be expensive, but seriously, what doesn't cost money these days? If you properly care for something they aren't going to cost that much because there's nothing to break? Right? Everything costs! Why not enjoy life and pursue a hobby that you actually enjoy? There is nothing wrong with a little indulgence. Work all week, and at the end what do you give yourself? What do you do for yourself?

Settle for the least amount of happiness and you will forever be depressed and pessimistic because nothing in your life will go right and you will have no one to blame but yourself. If you love something, pursue it! Even if it's just a hobby and not a career path, who the hell cares? You will have one of the things that makes you happiest in your life, and no one can take that away from you!

Yes, right now I don't have horses in my life, but I know I will in the future, and that is what I am working towards. Some hobbies require more planning than others, but hey, that's life. I still have other things in my life right now that I am thankful for and that I love and that I can finally have in my life on a daily basis, but there will always be that one empty spot in my heart the shape of a horse.

Any fear would be denied.

If ever a time should come
