Throughout the west of Subeta, a wondrous circus travels from town to town, dazzling audiences wherever it goes. Its troupe is a colourful, eclectic family of performers and beasts - each more incredible than the last. From the glorious Tigreans and Archans with their mighty roars and powerful leaps, to the vibrant Hikei and the majestic Malticorns who gallop with the speed of the wind itself - this circus has it all.

But amongst them all, there is one performer who stands out like a shining star on a moonless night. He may not have the terrifying grace of a Tigrean or the magical aura of a Malticorn, but he is undeniably the most wondrous creature in the whole troupe. His name is Mumbo, and he is an Anyu.

Now, don't let his simple, humble appearance fool you. Mumbo may not look like much at first glance - just an average-sized Anyu, his fur a soft mixture of dark and light brown, and his ears a little too big for his head. But when he steps onto the center stage, something extraordinary happens. A hush falls over the crowd. There is no denying it: Mumbo commands attention. Not through tricks, not through dazzling displays of magic or strength, but through his pure, unbridled joy.

With every bound he takes, with every joke he cracks, with every wink he sends to the crowd, he fills the arena with infectious laughter. His smile is so wide it could stretch across the entire circus tent. His energy is limitless, his antics endless. Mumbo's show is a celebration of life itself - where the unexpected is always around the corner, and where no two performances are ever quite the same.

Mumbo is the heart and soul of the circus, a living embodiment of joy and wonder. Alongside his troupe of talented friends, he pulls off the most mind-boggling feats. One moment, he might be riding a Malticorn while juggling flaming torches, and the next, he's making a Tigrean vanish into thin air - only to reappear seconds later on top of a cotton candy stand, munching on a handful of sugary clouds. His skits often turn into playful rivalries with his fellow performers, each one more hilarious than the last. And of course, he's a master of physical comedy, turning even the simplest action - like climbing into a cannon or trying to eat a popcorn bucket - into a moment of absolute hilarity.

But when Mumbo isn't performing, he's up to his usual mischievous tricks. He has a particular fondness for the circus's food stalls. Whether it's the salty crunch of peanuts, the sweet fluff of cotton candy, or the savory delight of anything fried, Mumbo is always first in line. The food vendors have learned to keep their eyes on him, for he has a way of sneaking the last bite of anything and everything.

He is especially infamous for his ability to sweet-talk children out of their treats. With a wink and a wiggle of his stubby tail, he'll charm a young one into handing over their candied apple, only to devour the whole thing in one unbelievable chomp. The children usually stare, wide-eyed, as he casually wipes the sticky apple juice from his chin, grinning at them innocently. “What? You didn’t need the whole thing, did you?”

But while his antics are cheeky, they’re always in good fun. Mumbo's charm is in his warmth - he isn’t a trickster for the sake of mischief, but because he genuinely loves to make people laugh. His heart is as big as his personality, and he would never do anything that would upset or hurt someone. To him, a day without a smile is a day wasted, and he is determined to make sure that everyone in his orbit is smiling - whether they want to or not.

And oh, the stories they tell. Everywhere Mumbo goes, his legend grows. They say that once, he convinced a whole town to follow him around while he led an impromptu parade of dancing clowns, bouncing Hikei, and singing Malticorns. He's been known to lead children through the circus grounds on a scavenger hunt, his infectious laugh ringing out as he guides them through cleverly disguised mazes of hay bales, circus props, and hidden surprises. No one ever leaves a performance without at least one story to tell.
