I roamed, once. I don't remember how, or why, but I remember a time before I was locked inside this mirror, before my only company was a handsome lad named William.
I used him. I lied to him. He was the one tie I had with him, those many years ago, and I literally made him disappear. How my ears sang, in the glorious silence of the empty house! How I longed to hear his droning again, while he brushed his hair...
I ended him, for a while. He simply stopped being; a hundred years our planet spun without his sashay, his gait that said he owned the world he lived in, that he was pride embodied.
Two centuries and then some, have I seen things in reverse. Two centures, I've learned how to write so that people view my words, but reading was harder to do backward than forward. Od the many places my frame has hung, I realized I never want to be inside again. Enclosed by walls, without plants that grow; instead, with rays of light that don't come from a sun, with objects that spawn from another side of the door, and the solitude of personal rooms.
