When I was little, just before my mother died, she told me that she would always watch over me for all my life. She said that her left eye would become the sun, and her right eye would become the moon. I always felt safe except for on moonless nights when no eye falls on me.
Now, every day and every night is a moonless darkness for me, and I can no longer feel her protection.
I am blind. My eyes fall on no one. I asked for sight but was given vision instead.
