Everyone always asks, what's it like being a shark that can't swim? Well, let me tell you - it sucks. Do you know if I'm not swimming, there's nothing to do? UGH. I just have to sit in one place all day long, like I'm some sort of sea urchin or something. Gosh, I don't know, it's just the worst. I always get left behind by my family and no one wants to be friends with a shark that can't swim. Even my food taunts me by swimming away. Mom and Dad had to bring food to me when I was young. No matter how many times Mom, or Dad, or Suzy, or Jimmy, or Clara, or Joey, or or or ... no matter how many times my family tried to teach me how to swim, it just didn't take. Now I know you must be thinking that there's something wrong with me - all sharks are obviously born knowing how to swim, right? Well, up until me, everyone would have agreed. But ...

Look, there's nothing wrong with not knowing how to swim, okay? Geez, don't be so rude. It's not my fault, it's not like I haven't tried to learn. I just ... can't. Dr. Anemone says that my fins are underdeveloped and weak, and that I'm lucky to have even made it this far. I disagree. There's nothing wrong with my fins. There's nothing wrong with me. I just can't swim. No big deal, right?

It was a really big deal when Jonah brought the swim floaties to me. No one even knew where he got them? I think he must have been terrorizing the beaches or something and some human left them behind. Not that I blame them, Jonah is awfully scary-looking for a whale, but he wouldn't hurt a mollusk. So anyway, Jonah brought these floaties to me and I tried them on and ... I could swim??? Look, I wasn't expecting that. I thought I would be too big for them, but look at them. Look at ME!

Guys, I'm swimming! I can finally keep up with my family and go hunting with them, even though I've gotten fond of the taste of plankton. Yes, it's an unusual diet for a shark, but I didn't really have much of a choice, did I? But Jonah lets me swim and eat with him now, and gosh I'm just so happy that I could cry. They're tears of joy, okay?

So anyway, that's me. I'm a shark that can't swim, and there's nothing wrong with that.
