Bane
Legacy Name: Bane

Full blooded dragon by birth, his mother a regal red dragon and his father a powerful black dragon, the two blood lines combining to create the ideal specimen that was Bane. Despite being born in the beginnings of the winter season his egg glowed with fire's light and melted the golden nest of treasures in his parent's den. During those times the dragons flourished as gods and moved freely in their true forms, lavished upon and worshiped by mortals. He broke of that shell's confines in the middle of the hottest summer the world had seen in years.

From an early age he had grown accustom to an elegant, fortunate lifestyle, lounging among the treasures of his father under the old dragon's powerful protection and the love and affection of his caring mother. Centuries he would spend with them until he would leave to begin collecting his own treasures and build up a fortune to live by. By then he had come to understand some of his natural gifts and draconic traits. As a dragon he held three forms, the massive reptilian form often portrayed of dragons in stories, a more manageable reptilian form the size of a large lion and his human form to hide him among mortals which he had never before taken on while in the safety of his father's lands.

He wandered for at least fifty years after departing from his parents, looking for a place to settle his own residence, in which he would meet a few more dragons as well as make use of the human form he could take. In his human form he could enter into a village, a strapping, strong young man and draw easy attention to himself, using his charm to gain the mortal's trust and from them learn things his parents and fellow dragons could not teach him including other uses for his talents with fire. He would learn and master the arts of black smithing, metal working and jewel crafting under numerous human masters of the trades along with other beneficial talents which he would use to then begin building his home into a red rock mountain. Tucked into the woodlands it gave him protection and privacy as he would dig into the rock to make his den before expanding into the mountain itself to create the unique human-ques castle imitating pictures he'd seen and noble's homes he'd visited while among the mortals.

With an eye for value he'd locate easily the sites on the land that held precious gems and metals including the rock which formed his own den that was speckled with flecks of gold. With these he could craft belongings for his own and the beginnings of his treasure before taking them to trade for more things in local towns. But as stories go, dragons were known for taking not only material things but beings of great beauty and he was of no difference. His first acquisition of mortal kind was a maiden, a fair young woman with hair the color of light gold and eyes of emerald but eventually her age would turn her gold to gray and her fine skin would wrinkle. Only at this time would she be given the choice to leave... or to be set up in a small cottage upon Bane's lands to live the rest of her life after being his captive for so many years. Some would stay willingly, greedy for the riches the dragon had to bestow upon them and some would remain resentful and remain chained for their time with him, but he would not be denied.

Eventually the troubles of mortal treasures began to irritate him, as his living prizes would grow old and ugly... this would not due. He would not know how to solve such a problem until reading through an old text and learning more about the fabled unicorn. This seemed to be the logical solution, as unicorns were generally pleasing to the eye and did not age after a certain number of years so he set out to find such beasts to add to his collection of beautiful pieces and treasures. Imagine his surprise to find not one, nor two - but three! Three glorious unicorn brothers living on an island not on any map, even more surprised was he to learn that like he, these three could take on human forms that were as beautiful as their true. They were still young 'colts' when he found them and took them from their island to live in his castle of stone where they live to this day with mixed feelings.
