As a child, Carne loved the fair in his town more than anything. It was his favourite place to be, and every year he'd save up any spare change he could find so that he could spend at least a single day there.
Throughout his teenage years, Carne worked extremely hard, taking any job he could find and saving every penny he could afford. Eventually, though, his diligence paid off and he achieved his dream of owning the park he loved so much.
Everything was good for a while. The park ran smoothly, and Carne was well-liked by the town's residents. He was extraordinarily friendly, and always involved in the day-to-day work of the fair, despite being its owner. Some days, you'd find him handing cotton candy to the young ones, while other days, he'd run the darts stall.
Suddenly, however, things changed. Rides would suddenly break down. People were plagued by terrible stomachaches from the fair's food. Carne tried his hardest to identify what was causing these and other problems, but to no avail. Finally, after some fairgoers were seriously injured, his park was shut down due to concern for the customers' safety.
Carne was devastated. It was not long until he lost the will to live.
But he hadn't gone forever. Clinging to his sorrow for what had become of his beloved park, his ghostly personage returned to look around the remnants of his life's work.
Then, he discovered something. Spirits, black as night, were flitting around his park. The aura they gave off spoke of nothing good, and suddenly Carne knew what had happened to his fair. But now, he had the power to do something about it.
With the ability to both see and interact with the evil spirits that had once wreaked havoc, Carne now spends his time defending his park from them. Under his constant protection, the fair was deemed safe and reopened, and the people eventually returned to enjoy its entertainment once more- and nothing could have made Carne happier than seeing the smiles it brings to others, as it had always brought to him.
