I was cast out; dishonoured. I can never return.

Once part of a congregation of Archan tasked with guarding a temple, he failed in his duty, resulting in the death of one of the temple masters, and was thrown out. Knowing nobody in the desert would shelter a lone Archan, he wandered for many days and nights until he came upon a dark wood. It was there he met a little ghost rabbit, who helped him find food, and gradually came to know the other inhabitants of the forest. Away from the desert sun and sand for so long, the darkness of the woods crept into his fur.

The men who came to fell this forest for timber had heard that it was haunted by dark spirits, and although the workers had seen a few strange shadows here and there, the boss was not intimidated. "They're not real, and even if they were, they're so small! They can't stop us!" So the cutting began. But not long after, they found their tools damaged, the smaller ones crushed and the larger ones with long gashes scored into the sides. The men brought new tools, but it was only a matter of time. One night, the boss went out to the site to try and catch the vandals in the act. From their camp, the workers heard a monstrous roar, a scream abruptly cut off, and then only silence. They never returned.

Now I have a new home, and the woods have a new guardian.
