The sea was angry that night.Water surged up and around the ship, flooding the deck of the normally sturdy Neptuneï¿½s Cannon, which now creaked and rocked beneath the tumultuous assault. Amidst the crashing waves, the periodic claps of thunder, and the pelting rain, the orders that their captain barked from his post at the wheel were drowned out completely. The crew helplessly scurried around the deck, attempting to regain even a bit of control of the wildly careening ship.

Grabbing a crewmate as he passed, Gulliver left the wheel in his care. His high boots thudded softly against the wet wood as he ran across the deck amidst his panicked crewmembers. He latched himself onto a rope, determined not to lose control of his precious ship.

A swell. A drop. The process repeated over and over as the ship rocked upon the waves which towered all around them. As the vessel peaked yet another wave, they caught a glimpse of her. She loomed among the waves ahead of them, nearly as tall as the rising water itself. With hair like damp seaweed and skin a sickly shade of green, there was no mistaking the most famous lady of pirate lore, and as the grizzled captain looked on in horror, he knew he was staring Death in the face.
