Crouching Tiger, Hidden Garden
Kendel is a rather large tiger like creature made up of different kinds of moss. He resides within the town limits of a little place called Sallow's Gate and quite enjoys living close to a mostly peaceful town. Most folks these days don't even know he exists just outside of town in a little garden haven he has created. In this garden one can find various plants from all over Astrinet though none know exactly how they get there since Kendel appears as a part of the flora due to his covered coat. Doesn't matter how ugly a plant may look he will take it in and care for it like every other plant. Flowers gently bloom with every step he takes and seem to disappear shortly after, simply fading out of existence. There is only one thing he does not like about the town and that is the unneeded hostility toward one of his dear friends, a fox named Ekko. It is unfortunate what happened to him many years ago but there was no reason for townsfolk to be so aggressive to him. Kendel's plants will seemingly watch Ekko as he passes through, to make sure the other makes it through the forest without being harmed even though the other is more of a spirit rather than physical. There has been a time or two when the wrath has been evoked and Kendel had his plants decimate homes on two different occasions. Kendel despises letting his rage build in such a mannor and has to withdraw and meditate for what feels like an eternity. The forest seems to become hostile while this happens and no one will dare venture out into it to gather food or hunt while the plants feel angry.Meeting Ekko changed Kendel's life in a positive way. The tiger had began to feel quite lonely as he spent time curating his plants in the woodland. He knew better than to venture into town, knowing all it took was one greed filled person to jeopardize his life. He refused to be a part of some wealthy bidding war only to be stuck as someone's lawn ornament. The children were told not to venture too deep as they would be stolen off by evil things. While this used to be true, Kendel's very presence keeps the evil at bay. It's as if evil spirits and demons alike avoided him like the plague though he never understood why. Perhaps they were allergic to his flowers haha! Wishful thinking at least. On that faithful night a gunshot rang throughout the forest. Kendel had stopped tending to his garden long enough to hear the sound of something penetrating something squishy. He made a disgusted face as he had never heard such an awful sound before but what followed was even worse as the screaming of some animal filled the silence. The birds began to scatter and the pitter patter of small creatures could be heard bouncing off the trees and ground as they ran away from the sound. Kendel began to follow it however, curious as could be and hoping he could help whatever was hurt. When he got to the scene he knew he was too late, blood had drained from the small fox that lay in pain before him. He could hear them beg for help. It was disheartening to see such a waste of life. Kendel used his power to call upon the flora, to offer this fox a far more peaceful death than what they had been given. He watched as the flowers overtook the body, the sounds of breathing growing more shallow before finally coming to an end. Kendel breathed a sigh of relief as the silence had returned. He bowed his head and offered a few kind words for the creature though soon realized they had not completely left this realm. When he looked up he saw the fox trying to figure out what happened to itself. He watched as they had started to panic, unsure of what to think or even do. When they finally looked up to the moss creature all Kendel could do was let out a chuckle. Clearly someone somewhere had a bit more work for this now corporeal fox. He learned their name was Ekko and he offered to become their friend. Ekko clearly took up this offer and has since assisted in helping him stay hidden and protect that small town.

Kendel appreciates him eternally as he now doesn't feel quite as lonely knowing his friendly fox buddy is lurking about. Unfortunately Ekko entered Sallow's Gate against Kendel's will and quickly found out that he wasn't so welcomed there. Many folks despised him and many of the brave ones would throw things at him to make him go away. Children would dare their friends to taunt him and it was rather infuriating. It wasn't until another gunshot rang out within town that Ekko finally got the message to stay out. Ekko apologized to Kendel for going against him after that and promised to keep folks from discovering him.
