War is Sweet to the Inexperienced
Too early for mourning at the bay.
Blue skies choked by ash and gunpowder.
The ocean sweeps in to drag out to sea,
war torn bodies soaked in sweat and tears.
This timeless ritual sacrifice.
Generations of blood sacrifice,
commanded by a general's bravado.
Ignorant of the other side's tears.
So hungry for war's teeth kept at bay.
The siren call of a raging sea,
sparked by the lit blast of a soldier's gunpowder.
Golden sand mixes with blackened gunpowder.
Dark red soaking them both in a sacrifice
to the cresting waves of a silent sea.
Heartbeat quickens, a street hustler's bravado.
Yet the blood in our veins continues to bay,
howling deafeningly to drown out the tears.
These hallowed grounds, blessed by the fallen's tears-
An empty choice, sanctified with burnt gunpowder.
Wordless promises made at the blood-soaked bay.
Yet we continue to give to this pointless sacrifice.
A holy testament to a lawmaker's bravado.
The meaning lost to the tremulous sea.
Machines of iron and steel sail the lonely sea,
ever searching for those hopeless tears.
The lost man's stolen bravado,
taken by the bite of a cannon's gunpowder.
Peace of mind, a God given sacrifice
to keep humanity's good nature at bay.
Armies stand tall along the shores of the lonely bay,
watching as the sand continues to be kissed by the tides of the sea.
A relationship with no need for any form of sacrifice,
and there is no need for widows and mourners to shed tears.
The men will take a stand and set aside their fresh gunpowder,
and listen to the sounds of peace preached with a bishop's bravado.
It is long time for a sacrifice of bravado,
and to keep at bay these warmongers and quicksilver gunpowder.
Allow the sea to wash away all of your mournful tears.
