Agape comes from a family of travelling merchants. Though most wouldn't think so, they had a rather lonely, isolated childhood, as other kids their age would pick on them due to... certain oddities in her life. Almost by accident, they found a patient and caring catfolk, who taught them how to play the mandolin and become a full-fledged bard - and though Agape always liked playing music, they never really wanted it to be more than a hobby. Becoming a bard was a means to become more charismatic, and have more friends... which, rather to their dismay, worked wonders.
They now travel the world of Ovo with a ragtag group of adventurers, each one more extravagant than the last. Though they're keeping up with the prophecy handed to them by a deity, Agape seems to be following their own agenda, diving into each new library they come to in search of the answer to a problem that may have never existed in the first place.

Agape is a catfolk bard. Or, at least, that's what she's convinced she is. Ever since she was born, it was obvious something was different about her: for once, she barely looked anything like her parents and her brother. Her mom was an Andean Mountain Catfolk, her dad was a Siamese Catfolk, her brother was a perfect blend of the two, and she looked like an Oriental Longhair catfolk. She had a rather lonely, isolated upbringing due to the bullying and teasing other catfolk would do, as she was rather obviously a bastard child. To combat this, Agape learned under the wing of a caring adult catfolk how to become a bard, taking her interest in music one step further. It worked, her charisma had won many other kids over, and she could finally say she had friends.
Then, she had her 15th birthday.
In her dreams appeared a goddess - Neria, deity of dreams, music, and Agathions - celestial animals. She spoke to Agape, telling her she was her chosen champion, as she was a half-angel descended from Agathions - an idyllkin aasimar. Agape was having none of it. She had fought all her life to be accepted as a catfolk, to live in catfolk society, now it turns out some goddess was telling her she was none of it? For three years the goddess pleaded with Agape, who kept turning her away... until Neria escalated, causing Agape to sleepwalk, speak in tongues, and write on walls while dreaming, slowly destroying her carefully constructed reputation. As soon as she was 18, she left her family, in pursue of knowledge... in pursue of a way of getting rid of what she thought was a curse. A way of getting rid of her angelic lineage from her blood, so she could go back to being a regular catfolk, and live a normal, mundane life, surrounded by people that loved her.
The reality is this: Agape is an idyllkin aasimar, and there is no way to remove that from her blood. She's fighting against the inevitable - while she can choose not to heed Neria's call and leave her to her fate, Agape knows the only thing to do is to say yes. She's hoping against hope, though. Her upbringing has left her only wanting normalcy, to live a comfortable and mundane life, but fate has now tied her to a ragtag group of adventurers, each weirder than the last, each feat in the name of good bringing their names popularity and acclaim. She keeps her secrets close to herself, and is quicker to trust her life on others than she is on telling her about all that's going on in her life.
Fun facts:
- Agape's bard teacher is actually her Agathion parent. She's never thought about it, but this adult catfolk was rather quick to take her under their wing...
- Neria is from a former pantheon, fighting to stay relevant. Agape accepting her call is the difference between life or death for the deity.
- The current goddess of dreams, Desna, is trying to make Agape her champion so she can take over Neria's duties and become the sole dream goddess of the realm.
- And she's been hunted down by the goddess of nightmares and monsters, Lamashtu, as well. FUN.
- Her girlfriend is a cat burglar working for the thieves guild. They are dating while Agape is working to destroy the thieves guild. It just works out, somehow.
- Her party members consist of:
- a ratfolk witch who can summon poisonous vermin
- an occultist "elf" who is by all accounts a tiefling, and also a skilled liar
- a half-mermaid swashbuckler, who Agape went from trusting the least to trusting the most in the span of one heart-to-heart conversation
- a slimegirl with a baby bronze dragon. the slimegirl disguises herself as a kitsune. the dragon is disguised as a horse.
- an aasimar paladin, who's come so close to figuring out Agape's secret it's not even funny anymore
