It no longer remembers how it came to be. A Kitsune, Hu Li Jing, Fox Spirit, Tailed Fox, or whatever you choose to adorn this enigma of a creature with. Foxes are known to be cunning, but they are really elusive geniuses just trying to exist in this world and observe the changing nature of history.
Unlike others, Conscience is a Three Tailed Fox. One tail for each facet of its identity. One tail for right, one tail for wrong, and one tail for morally gray. It exists in the shadows, watching the human world as the pages of our history are filled and then turned.
Conscience was born from the realization that there was a right and wrong - but more interestingly, that sometimes it is not as clear cut. A vagabond, it travels the world collecting tales that fall in the morally gray category. Each one an ethical dilemma. Carrying with it, the little treasures of its existence and also ways to record what it as seen.
Conscience finds that the beauty of life is that the narrative is malleable. People always manage to convince themselves that things are right or wrong, when the true nature of the events are simply morally gray. When you apply your own person lens, you project your feelings onto it. Therefore, are all events morally gray and just colored by the right or wrong lens you wear?
