The Magnificent Artem
The bunny quivered in its cage. It was watching nervously as the magician- clad in a cloak and top hat- flourished for his audience, on a stage lushly dressed in crushed velvet and satin. A wide-eyed audience stared in disbelief as trick after trick was performed.
Unfortunately, as the bunny knew well, the magician wasn’t particularly good. Sleight of hand, escapes, levitation, manipulation... he couldn’t do any of it. He tried, he struggled, he quit- something the bunny had seen lots of, as it and it’s brothers and sisters had often been an unwilling audience for the magician as he had practiced.
There was one thing the magician was good at, however. He could make things disappear. He could make anything disappear. Including all of the bunny’s siblings, as it watched. It was amazing to see, however there was one little problem- he couldn’t make anything reappear.
Nothing the magician disappeared ever came back.
And now, the bunny knew it was soon going to be his turn. He was the only one left. He was the grand finale.
Brandishing his wand and top hat, the magician swished his way over to the bunny’s cage. The bunny felt himself be lifted up, and then everything went black as it was lowered into the top hat. It could hear a muffled “abracadabra!”
Everything went... blacker.
“Welcome to the void!”
The bunny looked around, but he couldn’t see where the voice came from.
“The magician must have banished you, too! Oh, let me turn on the lights for you”
Suddenly, a light pierced through the blackness. The bunny looked around in awe, seeing piles and piles of the magician’s props. It broke into a little bunny grin as it saw that between the piles were it’s lost sisters and brothers. They were reunited once again.
