On this magic night,
a million stars will play beside us
cast a spell of light

The aurora danced high up in the sky. It was a typical midwinter's night, just after a storm. The woods were hushed in the way that can only happen after it snows, and there was a slight tang to the air. The trees were draped in white and the ground below had yet to be disturbed.

Some said the aurora was just particles hitting the atmosphere. Emmylou knew differently. The lights were alive. They tumbled and danced through the sky to a melody all their own.

And Emmy danced amongst them. She spent her days in the woods, but as night fell she would begin her joyful ascent to meet her friends.

There was no order to the dance, but for Emmy it was instinctive. She would whirl through the lights, adding her own fire to the swirling colours. She often flew for hours and hours through the sky before slowly descending back to her forest.

Back home in her cozy nest, Emmy would stare up into the sky, entranced in the swirling lights above her. For this night she was finished her part of the dance, but tomorrow she would be back again in that beautiful sky.
