aloise is the prince of the changelings. changelings are a type of fae that sneak away children to feast on them. to make sure the parents aren't aware of this change, the tricky creatures swap babies with their own young. the young, in-turn, feed on the pure love that the parents give them. this will continue until they turn eighteen, in which their memories are returned to them and they return to their real home. the parents, friends, and partners of the changelings will die due to the draining of love that the changelings have done.


aloise was raised by two loving parents, surrounded by lots of great friends... and... then... he remembered. remembered what his purpose was. to rule over all the changelings and organize more of this stealing and murder. it sickened aloise, and he was mortified to discover what the effects of his love-draining were already doing. everyone he loved was getting sick. an incurable sick. and he could not stop the process... unless...

he decided to destroy every single relationship he cared about. that would stop them from loving him. that would cure them.

he ran from the people who loved him, he ran from his duties as a prince, and now lives alone in a messy tiny apartment above a grocery store. due to no longer feeding on love, he himself has become sick. he knows that soon, he will die. he has grown weak, skinny, and can't go through a few sentences without coughing. he has isolated himself from everyone. if he does talk to people, he'll be the first to push them away with harsh words. but that's okay. if he has to die, that's fine. because as long as everyone he cares about is safe... nothing else matters.
