a seasoned paleontologist who lives and breathes for ancient fossils and all things dinosaur-related. unfortunately since he's well aware that he's one of the best at what he does, his naturally loud-mouthed and egotistical personality has garnered him some unfriendly notoriety within the science community, much to his careless ignorance. not even the brightest and most acclaimed scientists known for their patience and understanding can come to stomach the idea of collaborating with him, and it's for this that Jac has smugly developed the notion that all of his fellow scientists are jealous of him and intimidated by his vastly superior knowledge.
due to some unruly behavior of his that results in him being unceremoniously kicked out of a group paleontological dig he was scheduled to attend in Egypt, his project manager manages to pull some last-minute strings and squeeze him in with a small group of archeologists set to embark on a several-month research expedition to the same country. despite the lead archeologist Viviana's desperate objections, her own project manager happily reserves Jac a seat on their departing flight, and soon the young woman is forced to face the fact that in the midst of her months of busy archeological research, she will also have to somehow juggle the unfortunate task of babysitting this incorrigibly self-centered and demanding paleontologist against her will.
the two arrive in Egypt and, through many weeks of wacky shenanigans, eventually come to befriend and form an alliance with a local historian named Lori whom has dedicated her life to preserving the history of the Great Pyramids-- the famous landmarks which just so happen to be the target of Viviana's diligent research. despite their blooming friendship, Lori soon regretfully finds her new companions getting involved in the treacherous war she's long battled against a notorious organized crime circle-- always taunting Lori with vague warnings of their impending scheme to conduct a large and violent raid on the pyramids for their treasures, as well as on several major museums within the region known for housing many more of the ancient tombs' priceless artifacts. soon, the trio finds themselves apart of a harrowing adventure that pushes their lifetime of knowledge, wits, and skills to their limits, all in the mission to protect Egypt's centuries of history from being desecrated and lost forever within the cracks and crevices of the distant past.
