Benji is the youngest of three siblings, as well as the youngest in the group of children that were sucked into the Digital World. He has a hard time understanding the reality of the situation and views everything as something like a game, which is both a blessing and a curse to those around him. Like most children, Benji is energetic and has a hard time sitting still; his partner Digimon often ends up acting as babysitter for him.

His partner is Kudamon, a dutiful holy Digimon that takes its role very seriously. Benji thinks Kudamon can be a little boring (and has asked on more than one occasion why it can't be more like his siblings' Digimon, who are much livelier); he also has decided that it being so devoted is evidence that his partner will turn out to be the best, most powerful Digimon out of everyone's.
