story
Despite what people may say, there is only one truly perfect being; that being is God. Angels have a personified appearance to humans on Earth. They are perfect, without sin, and possess beauty beyond compare; however, this is not the case. Angels are really just "super humans." They sin, they are not always right, and the only real difference is the level of spectral abilities. In other words, we, Celestials, are simply just human guardians. We regulate the balance between life and between death. We oversee the happiness or the sadness of an individual, and we share the duties between rewarding and punishing.
But who is to punish the Guardians when they stray? Should it be God, or their own guilty conscience? Faith rolled the thought around in her head. It had been bugging her for days. It wasn't that she had never done anything wrong, it was just that it had never been this bad.
The worst part is if she were to find out. Then again there is no such thing as secrecy in Viridia. Faith patted her stomach. Both God and she alike would already know by now. She was pregnant. Ordinarily the news would be welcomed; however, the gods and goddesses of Virida were at a loss of how to act.
The baby Faith was carrying was to be half angel and half demon. Viridia had always remained on neutral grounds with the Nvidian society. Viridians had long come to accept the fact that evil would always remain on Earth and that Nvidia was the home for the eternally damned.
Faith held her head high as she walked down the corridors of the Viridian Temple. Even the low servants of the temple kept their heads bowed as she walked passed. No greetings were given to Faith, the high goddess of light.
The large oak doors finally came within sight. However, it was blocked by her.
"Hello, Sinh," Faith greeted her pleasantly.
Sinh sneered at her as Faith came closer. She wrapped her arms around Faith's bulging frame before planting a kiss on her cheek. Sinh's nails dug into her dress painfully making Faith wince.
"Congratulations on your baby girl," Sinh whispered sweetly in her ear.
Faith shivered. She could feel the malice burning in her ear as Sinh took as a step back and opened the temple doors for her. It was here Faith started to panic. She knew that she was about to be punished for the first time in her life. Fear wracked her entire body.
She walked in closer. The almighty one was sitting at the throne and the sight of him made her turn away in shame. Should she feel like she did something wrong? She was merely bringing life into the Viridian world. This did not happen very often after all.
Faith kneeled down before the large throne before her. "Forgive me for I have committed a heinous crime," Faith cried meekly."Heinous crime? I don't think it is all that," he chuckled, "However, a mix between a Viridian and a Nvidian. I never thought I'd see the likes. To which society should this baby fit into? There is no answer but to ask the child itself."
"How can I--" she was interrupted.
"You will send her to Earth. She will live her life normally without contact from you or her father for the first eighteen years of her life. After that, you are allowed to bring her up to Viridia for an appeal. She will also be sent to Nvidia for an appeal. If she decides to stay in Viridia, she will have to be validated as a appropriate citizen of Viridia before she is allowed a permanent home here.""Thank you, Your Graciousness," Faith stood and bowed before him before leaving.
"Do you even care whats happening here?" She fired hotly at him.
He grabbed her and hugged her with the baby. "Of course. It's only eighteen years. It could be worse. Your taking this too hard," Steven said soothingly.
Faith sighed. She could tell that he wasn't uncaring; he just had another outlook on this situation. She wiped the tears away from her eyes. "Okay..." She said slowly as she put the baby down on the snowy steps and kissed its forehead softly.
"I'll miss you, Kami."
