Friday Isaiah Zionni is - to coin a phrase - a wet blanket.

Cold fish, stick-in-the-mud, party pooper, fun-sucker: he's all that and more. Everything considered, he's much more a 'Monday' than he is a 'Friday' - but no one told this to his scatterbrained, ex-hippy of a mama when she first decided to name her newborn twin sons after seemingly random days of the week. Neither did his good ol' Italian papa object when she announced it to the whole maternity ward in her most commanding voice.

No one dared argue.

It was therein that, along with his suitably unstable brother, Friday Zionni was condemned to a life of torment and ridicule from his peers that would forever harden his heart and turn the blessed weekend into a thing of nightmare. TGI Fridays became a place akin to the bowels of the Underworld -- and skies above forbid he hear that confounded Rebecca Black song.

After politely deciding to 'get the hell out' of his parents suburban palace turned dodgy Italian hippie commune, Friday found himself living in a simple two-bedroom apartment with a neurotic chihuahua and his perpetually frivolous brother, Tuesday - whose company Friday regularly likens to having a naked rub-down with a cactus. All he wants to do, really, is find himself a nice little place out in the countryside - picket fence and all - where he can kick back, ignore the rest of his barely-evolved species-- and do the one thing his mama taught him that didn't end up with her getting arrested for public indecency.
