⥼ She found Eden in the Euphrates ⥽
Euphrates stood on the cracked riverbed, the dry sand stretched as far as she could see. She could hardly distinguish the riverbank from the riverbed.
"How did this happen..." she said softly to herself.
Tears welled in Euphrates' eyes, she was overwhelmed; how could her first river have dried up? It has been flowing for thousands of years, she left it in the hands of the creatures that lived nearby. She couldn't help but feel as if though this was her fault. She should never have left it alone.
The tears in her eyes began to fall faster onto the dust that covered the cracked dirt beneath her feet. Immediately mud began to form, but her tears alone aren't enough to resurrect an entire river she spent centuries forming.
She placed a hand on the mud and the transmutation circles around her neck and wrists began to glow brightly as her tears touched the cold metal. The ground beneath her began to rumble and large cracks ran along the empty river, splitting open the ground and letting water trapped beneath the dirt to rise up and reach the surface once more.
Euphrates stood up, her feet submerged beneath the water once again. Tears continued to fall from her eyes as she watched the river fill with water up to her ankles.
"I won't let it happen again."
Euphrates looked east and wondered if Tigris' river was in the same barren state. She hasn't seen Tigris in decades.
"Where is she..." She grew concerned and started walking along the river towards the mountains where she and Tigris first met.
