I'm soooo old fashioned. I thought Nancy Drew, because in some of the books (but especially the movies/tv shows) she does drop her flashlight when the normally ultra-prepared (batman eat your heart out) Nancy is needed to be taken down a peg so that the unimaginative writer can force a plot to work. Nancy Drew started out blonde, but when some of the authors forgot this, all her girl readers thought the new redhead look was swell, and so her natural haircolor changed over time to more red.
And then I thought: Scully looks like a grown-up Nancy Drew.
