I had actually never read this book as a kid. I just discovered "Where the Wild Things Are" this year when I read it for a Child's Lit Class. Knowing this great author died, well it made me sad. Such a loss. :( R.I.P Maurice Sendak. Thank you Subeta for honouring such a talented author. :heart:

Oh and you used my fave line as the description! Love this. And I have to admit, even when she says it in the movie I get a little teary eyed. I think this is my second fave tribute item, after the Heath Ledger ones, of course. :)

I remember as a child, I was a bit freaked out by the monsters so I stayed faaaaar away from it :p I just realize, this was like 20 years ago lol. I feel like a geezer.

I actually never read those books, at least not that I remember, but I recently saw him on Colbert and was impressed with his wry sense of humour.
:( I'm still a little in shock from this news tbh! This is an adorable tribute though! I was just watching the movie version a few days ago for the first time in a long time, how surreal.
Oh, I just saw him on Stephen Colbert discussing Stephen's foray into children's literature. Well, not just I guess. A couple months though. This is so sad. :(
