I mean, I personally have no plans of getting either of these trunks because they don't look that interesting to me (even if I was a bigger KH fan, I agree with Lexigraph that wink-wink-nod trunks are more fun, and the eye-items kind of creep me out), but I guess it makes sense to me that staff artists are held to different standards.

Pretty ironic they basically copy paste content from other games and movies and such, but when people submit custom wearables to the game, they have to change a TON of stuff and make it subeta related... Double standard much

While a tribute here and there is alright, for me it is one thing to make a tribute and have it float around on site. it is another to create an item based almost completely on the works and art of others, and then /profit/ from it by selling it for real life money. Yeah, make tributes, sure, have them be given out as prizes or something. Profit off your /own/ ideas. I get its EpiCon, but that doesnt really change the fact that youre making a cheap, quick buck off unoriginal work, and your only excuse is a vague "Staff can do it, cause, ya know, were staff. And stuff."
I wish they did Namine not Kairi... blah! Love the trunk ideas either way and I see a couple items I may be interested in using. Good job artists! (I'm guessing Pie or Goth...?)

I've never played KH (it is a game, right? x: sorry, kh fans!), but I WANT THAT LIP ITEM AND THOSE PINK SHORTS!
As long as legal bases are covered, there's no fuss. My intent was not to complain that something beautiful was created for fans, etc, but just state an opinion that I would prefer more of a wink-and-a-nod tribute type of trunk in general. I apologize for bringing up CWs as a standard at all, and realized after posting that not only did it not matter, but that of course since the trunk is made of individual pieces that of course it would. I just... went to bed instead of clarifying my post. -.-
Let me reiterate that this trunk is MAD gorgeous and I'm going to end up owning at least bits and pieces of it, and I uh, clearly am willing to drop real money on tribute items. It took everything in my power to wait until the omni-tool item was on sale.

Those BGs are PHENOM. I never really got all the way into KH but I appreciate it nonetheless!

Just reiterating that these are put out by official artists which are held to different standards than (legally) than the items uploaded by users.
They're NOT CW artists, they're staff artists so they can do this with slightly more relaxed rules than those who only use Subeta. Besides it's Epicon and everyone seems to be enjoying it, so if you don't like it, don't bother buying it. It's not going to kill anyone to just deal with this.

Really? So subeta's not allowed to release tribute items because of cw artists and cw rules? It's not like this is a direct copy off KH anyway. ;s And come on, there's plenty of "original" non-tribute subeta wearables on the site. It's epicon for crying out loud. xD Like ... what did you seriously expect to happen?
I can't believe people are complaining abou lack of originality. Epicon is on for frodo's sake! It's the perfect time to be pleasing fandoms!
Sad the amount of hate the artist are getting when they are working to put stuff out for people like you, and they are just getting bashed for it. This is part of the reason site artists get discouraged and tired of pouring effort into hard work because people instantly attack them. If you can't offer good critiquing or insight on the matter then it's best to not say anything at all. Sure artists should be used to taking a bit of a whiplash from a few not liking their art, but to see the site constantly lighting up on you and your hard work can wear down on someone fast. What you might not like dozens of others might and vice versa. You can't always please the masses, but it's not like they are not trying their best for you guys.

It might be best to politely ask the artists why they can get away with doing things so similar to copyrighted material, and others who are not listed site artists can't. Perhaps they will explain it to you and politely answer the questions if only asked in a proper manner. There is always a reason for these things, even if you might not like it.

From the get go we stated that we have a more relaxed set of rules...cause y'know...we're staff artists. Regardless none of these items are carbon copies of their originals. That. Is all. That matters. It's a tribute through and through.

Could you maybe finish turning all those items that SHOULD be trunks into trunks before you keep on copying other people's ideas? More originality, please, this is getting pathetic.

I'm not too fond of this to really buy the trunk. What really annoys me is that there's strict rules for tribute CWs, but regular on-site items can bypass those rules easily? Doesn't seem very fair to me.

The art is super lovely, and I'm very likely to own some of the items, but (as with the Zelda trunk) I wish it deviated a little more from the source--would these pass the CW rules? Just don't want Subeta to get in hot water or be percieved as hypocritical...

I just grabbed one, kinda wish I didn't cuz I could have used the csc to pay for a cw slot - I like the bg of the male version, but most of the rest just don't seem that attractive to me.

Yay for the references! Kingdom Hearts is probably my all time favorite video game series. The items are lovely, but I wish there were more!
