Fireside 2013
Fireside is an annual celebration which occurring in late Autumn. During the Fireside festival, citizens of Subeta gather with friends and family to share the harvest season's bounty and honor the legendary red rreign who once saved their ancestors from a frigid Winter with no food or fire.
The bonfire is a central part of Fireside, not only a symbol of the fire of Red Rreign, but also as acknowledgment of the shortened days and colder nights of Autumn. Typically, families will enjoy a large feast at home and later attend one of many public celebrations around a large bonfire, burning relics of Red Rreign to signify the purging of his former bullying behavior. One can often see impressive displays of fireworks in all shades of red, orange and yellow at these public events.
The new reborn xotl is trying hard to be a fire breathing lizard!
You may find various Red Rreign items floating around the site. Offer these to the bonfire in Veta Lake, and perhaps the spirit of Red Rreign will reward you. However, be warned. Burning the wrong items may anger his spirit, potentially causing great harm to you and your pets!
Try your luck at vending the new Fireside items at Blue Skies! Please note that these items will be removed December 1st!

I'm not liking the vending ratio of junk to fireside prizes. Doesn't seem worth it to me. I've vended hundreds of items and haven't gotten a single fireside item among them.

Gotta second what other people are saying about getting more collection items than the new fireside things from vending. I hope the chance for the new things will be adjusted. I've gotten a couple stickers but that's it for new items after 600 or 700 tokens. Strikes me as still a bit too rare.

I am ok with Fantine not asking for pumpkins this year! It's nice to have variety c: I hope she'll eventually do it again, though, so people can have a chance at those achievements -- but that's true for almost any achievement for me, I do wish some of them got unretired at some point for a limited time (as a surprise) :x
I love that we have multiple ways to get holiday items! That's basically what we have been asking since the MB was detached from the Holiday Shop. ^_^ I imagine staff is still looking for the right balance for items distribution on the site, which is to be expected c: YET, I have to say I'd have liked it better if the items from vending weren't exclusive to vending, or at least if they weren't as rare (generally speaking, for all items) as the other commenters are saying they are D: Because it looks like the apple and the riptide again. If the general idea is that excess vending hurts the price of regular items, then maybe there shouldn't be such a big incentive to doing it... although it's perfectly fine to add new items to the machines mix during holidays c:

So far today, 600 tokens, give or take, and no fireside items. :( This is why I hate the new way of vending for the holiday items. At least with them being in the holiday shop and the old vending machines I at least could get a few of the items I needed or I could get lucky and receive one of them as a quest reward.
What happened to when holiday (shop and to some extent the floating items *boohiss*DrillsQuestsanniversarybags*boohiss*) items were considered easy to get and it didn't matter if they became cheap and main shop items were the items we didn't want to crash? We've flipped that around now, crashing the main shop items by mass vending for a small chance to get the limited time items and the holiday items stay inflated. If all the holidays are going to be this way I'm going to be hating it.

Thank you, Amber, for clearing things up about Fantine's pies. I honestly didn't know that it wasn't a yearly thing; I had only been a user for about a month by the time last year's Fireside rolled around, so I just assumed it was the same kind of thing as the Pumpkin Patch or TOTing and that it would still be around this year.
I can just give my pumpkins to Charity instead, so it's all good. Especially since the items she gives in return are so darn nice! Seriously, major kudos for the new items. I can't get over how much I love them. *u*

I really don't understand how many people are getting bad results with vending
I spent a little more than 3k tokens so far and have gotten, like, 2 stickers, a book, 3 of the wigs, 5 of the eyes (but 3 repeated ones), 2 minions, and I believe about 10 or more collection items

I've dumped a good 1k tokens plus into the machine and I have received 2 collection items and one fireside that was thankfully a book, but with how the chances are, I'm passing on vending. The chance to get the holiday items are absurdly low, and as it is I'm already throwing tokens at the graveyard machine for the apple from morostide.

Pies will not be back this year. It was a thing we did last year (which we never said would continue on).
New items aren't just from vending, you can get items from charity and the bonfire. There are multiple ways to get items this year.

*Sobs a little bit* Over 500 Wizard Tokens..... and not a single new Fireside item from the Blue Sky Vending Machine. I got DUSK POTIONS and a few Collection Items.... but no new Fireside items? I think something is wrong with the chance rate on them. It must be freakishly low or something. This saddens me. :c

Kind of gutted about Fantaine. I was really looking forward to that. It's so confusing some times when everything gets changed with no warning.
Some things you have to do there and then and some you can do whenever you get around to it.
It makes it hard to really care about collecting your achievements :c

And this is why I'm NOT a fan of the vending items. Despite vending pretty much non-stop and having vended +500 items, I have only gotten 3 of the holiday items. These are going to be impossible for people who do not have a large store of tokens to get, are they supposed to be like that? If so, that sucks.

I'm seriously loving having more how to train your dragon themed plushies, dragon items make me love this holiday so much. I'm also proud, yet also ashamed, that I only needed my carved pumpkins and not even all of my extra tot candy from this year to max out the Charity achievements ^_^;

Whoops! Anyway, I don't like the new Charity. I loved the old one cuz she looked older and more mature, yet still maintaining a caring, sweet personality. Now she just looks like a little kid running a shop. A little kid with her cheeks all puffed out like she's annoyed. It's a rather unhappy revamp. The art's lovely but just doesn't fit who I felt Charity is.

Sure, I'm a little sad I don't get to fill up the rest of my Fantine achievements, but I'm happy to see Subeta switching it up, honestly. At least I still have a use for all those pumpkins I hoarded! And the first thing I got from Charity was the Turklet. What's not to love?

....I do have one little complaint, though. Can you guys maybe tone it down a bit with the guilt trip descriptions on the floating items next time? It was endearing and cute when it was just one or two from a batch, but it feels kind of weird to have the site constantly yelling at me for putting them to their intended use.

Well Im glad I spent so much wasted time, saving pumpkins for fireside, to get that dress >_> I don't understand whats wrong with having both open. It seriously gives us more to do, and frankly after Morostide there a ton of pumpkins around the site. I don't understand why it has to be "one person" a year that is stupid.

Achievements are for people who participate in things when they happen, as a symbol of having participated in the thing. If you want all the achievements, do all the things. I was working a lot and missed that whole cruise plot with all the salon hairs, and yeah I kind of wish I had the salon hairs, but I'm not going to complain about it because I don't deserve a prize for a thing I didn't do while it happened. Fantine was last year's event thing, and if you played along you have those achievements. That is the entire point of achievments. There will be new Charity ones I'm sure - we're not being "screwed out of" achievements, new and different ones are added.

Would it really be all that hard to open both Charity and Fantine? Subeta complained about the Reading Drive that there wasn't enough for users to do: that we'd just turn in our books and be done with it. And now that so many users want to participate in an event, Subeta shuts it down. Having both Charity and Fantine would give users more to do and keep users active throughout the whole event--exactly what they implied they wanted during the Reading Drive.

*reading posts now* Seriously? No Fantine? I hate the way Subeta screws us over with achievements. Hate, hate, hate it. Screw it all. I hate it so much. This whole achievement system drains so much fun from this site for me. No matter how much I work, Subeta always yanks the floor out from under me with achievements. So many of them are unachieveable achievements. It just sucks. Why the heck do you do this to us?

I'm a bit disappointed with no pie-giving this year. I would think all holiday achievements would be available on that holiday. I think it is also pretty reasonable in a canonical sense that Fantine would be baking pumpkin pie again this year for Fireside. Oh well. I'm sure there will be other things to enjoy. : )

I am not gonna say anything negative,been biting my tongue,but it would be nice if they fix some of-the things here before starting a new event,which will cause massive lag..:/ and oh..the floating items don't work either..question..how long have the profiles been broke..??
