Also, I never understood why they priced them only 500sp apiece, and have 1000sp ones which made absolutely no difference in your scores when thrown.

This is a great change! But why not r150? I have tons of basically useless r150 items that I'd love to be able to frag!
On the first evening of the snowball fight you could buy 50 snowballs at a time and only wait like 5 seconds, before they bumped it up to 5 minutes I believe. So there's a whole ton of snowballs given out, especially if you're lucky enough to be on that night you could buy tens of thousands.
Maybe I shouldn't have thrown most of them because the reward was a few mil at best, bleh.
The mass snowball buying really messed this up just like free beer for recycle points. What a lack of foresight back then.

Well, people with an obscene amounts of snowballs also put a dent of the servers, might as well get rid of them and have them sell crystals, buy items, etc. In the long run, this is a good ideal.

But it's always been like that, only rare or super rare items used to frag 1:1, that's why I spent so much, cause I used to buy and frag r65 +. Now you can frag snowballs 1:1 and there are people who have over 30.000 from the snowball fight, just to make an example. It's good for them but I'm still pissed xD

For now but in the end it's still a very good thing. Think of all the items that are devalued now going up in price. Those with hoards of Crystals are probably going to hold onto a majority of them so they can get the remote and other items now.

Now I really, really want to be able to search my gallery by rarity. It's way too big to search by hand.
Fragging cool, I usually frag the junk I get from battle quests. Minion, cute, but still saving my crystals for that never to be seen again remote.
This means when I get 50 bajillion of the same thing from trick or treating they will now have a purpose,I love subeta :D

Well... it's a nice change buuuut it should be limited or something.. I see people with 40k snowballs... it's kinda makes the fragging very easy.. one shot and you have 40k crystals.. the next time you will frag will be at summer 2020.

I know these items have purpose but I got so many collecting dust because I will NEVER use them...
but could it be possible to have some of the battle crystals be changed in their rarity? I have amassed so many singed and parched tear crystals that they are just rotting. Or if you don't want to adjust the rarity could the Recycle Beast start asking for them please?

...and ofc. that gets said AFTER I just cleared my gallery from doubles to frag and such..and the unfraggebles to my shop/donation centre...
