It turns out that the good people over at the carnival sure have been busy these past few days. It has never looked so beautiful!
Bibi and Lilah have just finished setting up their new Carnival Prize shop. You best get to work collecting Carnival Tickets because that\'s the only currency they\'ll accept. Lucky for you, it won\'t be difficult! Carnival games will no longer give out items as prizes and will instead reward you with Carnival Tickets. All existing carnival prize items have been moved to the prize shop, and some new ones have been added!
And do be sure to stop by and say hello to Ricardo. He\'s been excitedly and impatiently waiting for this announcement to be made. He even took a bath for the occasion which, Batista has informed us, is a very rare thing indeed!

I'm glad to see the carnival with a map now, I love the carnival shop idea as here were items I knew I wouldn't get.
My only issue is that these items requested from quests but I think it'll be alright (still have many tacky rings to spare!) xD

On the subject of carnival, the NPC running Bluff seems like he'd be cute in a kinda edgy way. I do miss three card monte though, but I just think games like that are fun
I think I'm going to just stop doing the balloon hunt game. It costs 3 tokens instead of 1 like the others and now that there's no chance of getting a good item prize it's not worth it any more. And with the card game deleted, that only leaves the pond, ring toss and bluff. Darn. :(

The dice with one pip showing is basically like a wildcard - it will count for ANY number. So, by that reasoning, there are four actual sixes and one "wildcard" six, making a total of six. There are also two twos, one three, etc because the one-die counts as an extra for each number.

I'm sorta bummed that it's so easy to get all of the prizes now - you could easily earn enough carnival tickets in a day to get 3 or 4 of the top prizes. And why are prizes that were much rarer before the same price as their less-rare counterparts? (i.e. Dainty Flower Temporary Tattoo, Sour Lollipops)

I love the life like animals, and I want all of them, but the zebra...looks a little unfortunately positioned. I mean apart from the fact the feet are hovering above the HAs so it can't be used in front of it...it kinda looks like the HA is busting its backdoors in...
Oh wow, the map looks great. And now I'll finally (eventually) be able to get that kangaroo rather than having to rely on my terrible luck or buy it!
So I love the map, I've wanted the Carnival to get a map for the longest of times. I just hate that Balloon Pop only gives out tickets now. The occasional SubQ was amazing! I don't know if I love carnival tickets. Yes, they make sense, and yay, I can pick what I want, but it'll take some getting used to. I've been playing at the carnival nearly daily for as long as I've been here.

I love the tattoos, but the clown plushies are so so so creepy. As a girl who watched "IT" under pressure, and had nightmares for two years after, I am so torn.
Now I'll actually play the carnival games more often then just when Drills asks me too. I'm also super excited to actually try for the Balloon achievements now. I need so many tickets, just like as if I went to a real carnival.
I actually really like the new currency; it means I'm actually likely to play the carnival games regularly. I wasn't too enthused at the prospect of being handed the same old junk over and over again in the old system.
Was there a reason that 3 Card Montre was closed? I quite liked that one as a fast Drills game.

@momo_the_peachy I think the positioning is fine. The zebra can be moved behind the HA in the Beta Wardrobe and can be used on its own with the backgrounds that cover the HA. -nods-
@Moyoleuhqui Sorry it's like 6 am so I forgot to mention that part. Because you can't see your opponent's dice, you just can't always get away with only calling things you actually have, so you have to guess at your opponent's dice. If your opponent calls three 2s on the first roll, and you don't have any 1s or 2s, you can call their bluff and if they don't have three+ 1s or 2s then they lose a die. The game is over when one of you runs out of dice

@Moyoleuhqui You have to say how many dice came up with a certain number on the roll; taking both your and your opponent's dice into account.
So if your opponent starts out and says three 2s, that means 3 dice out of the 10 are 1s (wild) or 2s. Then you have to either raise the number on the dice (bid three 3s or higher) or the number rolled (more than three 2s), or both.

I know everyone is all MEH about currencies but this is awesome! I've been fishing Mallarchy Pond for months trying to get the Happy Popcorn Sticker and Happy Balloon Sticker to no avail. The prize pool was so dilute with balloons and junk that it's ridiculous.

This is wonderful! I have been working on a pet with somewhat of a carnival theme so I am glad to see the carnival prizes put into a shop and some new ones added.
And the clown tattoos! Love! The item art for them is cute too, especially High Waisted and Boxing Glove.

This is fantastic! Just, 3 Card Monte being closed means it's harder to finish Major Drills quickly because you have to wait for the other games to let you play again. But still awesome!

Played Bluff twice since the reset so far. Lost 1st time but 2nd time "Congratulations, you won! You have been awarded 10,000 sP and 1 carnival ticket1!", so he doesn't run out of tickets after you lose. Guess it's just random.
You know, with the recent Currency Page revamp, I don't mind them adding currencies anymore. Before it was hard to keep track of and where to get points but now each one clearly states how to get them and where to use them. All on one nice and concise page. So you know what Subeta, bring on the currencies!

@Wolf_Spirit We aren't getting rid of all chance things. We literally just added items to the coin machine today, which is a chance based system. :) Also a lot of carnivals give you tickets for winning a game where you spent on prizes.

While I like being able to choose certain items if there is something specific I want instead of waiting forever to get it by random, I also liked getting the game prizes to stash in my vault for recycle beast.
If Hustler starts giving points out instead of items I think that this site will be handing everything out to people on a silver platter. All the fun of chance will be gone and the site will become very boring in that respect.
I'm inclined to agree @Solsticesprite. I enjoyed getting a random item from playing a Carnival game. It's seeming to become quite boring, now, all this "choose-your-own-prizes". Carnivals are supposed to be random instead of definite regarding prizes. Instead of a Carnival, now, it feels more like an arcade where you can save tickets up and buy things that way. All the chance seems to be taken out where it shouldn't (sP-based activities) and implemented where it shouldn't be (CSC-related things - AKA Chance machines). If anything it should be the other way around. Where's the fun in life if all the chance is taken out of it? Chance games in the Carnival made for a bit of fun. Now it's more of the same thing.
That doesn't stop me from liking the new map. It's stunning and was well needed. I just wish everything wasn't all choose-your-own.

Lost to Batista the first time I played and then I won the 2nd time and he told me he was out of tickets. Looks like if you don't win the first time, no tickets for you. That's kind of disappointing. No point in playing bluff for the rest of the day if that really is the case.

what about currency points? you get them based on the currencies you have. csc counts for 100 currency points, lounge trinkets are 3, steamworks trinkets are 5, sp is 1, wizard tokens are 2, recycle points are 4, forum tickets are 10, tique invites are 6, referral points are 50, quest points don't count, crystals count for .3, carnival tickets are also 1, candy hearts, vesnali tokens, and near years tokens are all 9 because I got tired of this. and retired currencies will all go away eventually once we get their antique releases.

@Kbbob - Just wait until they release the Multiple Redundancy Points. You have to spend an equal number of MRP for every point of sP you spend, but it's ok because they're easy to earn; you earn one for every point of sP you earn! :D

Nice! Carnival tickets like it's a real place!! Just think of it like you put your paycheck in the bank so you can use your debit card at the atm to get cash (because they don't take cards at the gate) to buy tokens to use in the games to earn tickets that you use at the prize counter. ^_^

@StarShadow Lifelike dolls have their own stand, behind the Bluff game. (it's the like stand that is yellowish and has a kora on top). 3 Card monte has been discontinued.

I really like the carnival games and found the prizes were pretty good to make sP from (even though the majority of stuff was exclusive junk like the neon rings/bracelets or low-rarity Carnival food). So although this basically kills my reselling of balloon items and the "good" stuff from the carnival games, I don't even care. THAT CARNIVAL/BOARDWALK MAP. BEST.THING.EVER.
Maybe Shop Search can link to the Carnival Shop when an item that's available there is searched - kind of how it will tell you if an item is from the Token Shop/Libertine Lounge/Steamworks Menagerie/Quest Shop/etc? That should help remind people of their options if Cinthia (and maybe Quentin?) ask for carnival items during quests.
