Pet Transfer Update
Good news for pet people out there! Now when you transfer a pet, it must be accepted or rejected. This means you won’t have a random user sending you pets anymore.
When you go to transfer a pet, you can choose an expiration time. You can choose no expiration, 1 day, 7 days, and 30 days. After the time you selected, the transfer request will become invalid.
If you’re the pet owner, you can cancel the request before it’s expired or before the other person accepts if you’ve changed your mind.

For anyone curious about the results: if you abandon a pet before your friend accepts the transfer request, they get an error message saying you no longer own the pet. So everything works ok. :D
(I still don't think you should be able to battle with it or anything, but that's another matter.)

I actually have had this happen a few times by accident and a few times on purpose and do you know what was the worst thing about it? you couldn't send it back OR pound it for 30 days.... or you'd get a warning! Silly right? Like "Oops! i accidentally sent you my pet, please hold it for me" and I'm like "GAH MY PET NAME WAS OPEN :C" and you don't wanna be lame on your friends so you keep the pet for them and lose out. Also don't like when they are like "here you know what to do with pets" and send like 3. No, I don't want your pet LOL. so yea, thank you team! been wanting this for years <3 <3

While I've never had this particular issue happen to me, I knew there was a very real possibility of people just dumping pets onto someone just because they have a free space available (and the pets couldn't be returned because of the cooldown timer), so I think this feature was very much needed! Excellent update - I also concur with the notion that this is good for double-checking that you have sent the pet to the correct user. ♥️

that moment when you come here thinking: "this was a thing???" (about random sending) and see x-people who thought the same :'>
but yay, great change!

Actually, I'm really curious what happens if you do abandon a pet you're trying to give a friend, because that could fail in hilarious ways if it's not handled correctly.
If anyone has some free time and an unused pet slot, I'd love to test it. :P

I just poked around with this feature because I was curious how it worked.
If you try to send a pet to a friend, you can still battle and stuff with it while you're waiting for the other person to accept. You can even abandon it. Is that a good idea? It seems like the pet should be locked and inaccessible the same way that trade lots are (though it should obviously still count toward your pet slots so no one can exploit it).

Oh how strange that people would do that! LOL! I guess if something can be exploited there will always be an a**hole that has to do it...

Good, it's about time this change was made. I always thought it was strange to be able to just give a pet to someone without their consent. I never personally had any issues with this though, but I'm glad for the change!

@User not found: _@ I would have never have guessed this would be a problem, but I'm glad there was a simple solution.

Someone sent a random pet to my fiance before and he kept it for a while because he felt bad. Both of us were very confused when this happened. So yes, this is a thing.
I'm very glad this update happened. Getting a random pet you don't want is never fun.

Seriously, people were randomly sending others their pets? I'd never thought that might happen. Seems like a very weired way to bug someone. o.0
But good to see that won't happen anymore, also the option to set a timer and cancel is a very good idea. :)

Fffhaha, that was a problem people were having? Wow. That's unexpected.
This is definitely better, but nevertheless I'm thinking about how one of my favorite stories actually started with the main character, as a baby, being left in a basket at someone's front door. Guess that's not gonna happen now, huh?

Such a nice idea, i've had strangers send me random E names pets (all good intentions), but I was like "I'm not ready for this!!" XD

Thank you! As someone with 3 open slots who doesn't want more pets I really appreciate this.

I didn't realize that was a thing either...glad to see that there is a mechanism now to stop it! :)

Thank you! :D It's been a long time since I got a random pet shoved on me but I appreciate this all the same
(Also, I did go to the page and you still need to be friends with the person)

"This means you won’t have a random user sending you pets anymore." I thought you had to be friends, to begin with? Seems silly to just dump pets on "friends" but I suppose it's not out of the realm of possibility. Either way, it's a nice quality of life update. Thanks!
