A Bad Omen: Sephora's Here!

Hello, my very good friends. I’ve heard that there is an exciting opportunity for adventure going on out there. I’d love to join up, but I don’t want to show up empty handed! I imagine those already on the trail could use a change of clothes, or a new pair of nice dry shoes.
Before I leave to join, I’d love to accept any donations of new or lightly used clothes and shoes to take with me to whichever team becomes my new family on the road. And hey, let’s make this fun: I will join whichever team helps to arrange the most donations.
Donate Here!
Sephora gives your team the Experienced Guide trait: Sephora's experience with forging trails and guiding caravans makes it easier for her to spot a quicker path through the jungle. Your team gains a +10% speed boost.

Definitely it's frustrating, for sure. Even I can agree to that. :) I was looking forward to our crushing defeat being finalized so we could move forward. ;P

But this site lag affects everyone and it happened for wesley as well. There was no extension for that so why is it okay today? Not saying it's on purpose but if this were a close race, it would be unfair for whichever team was winning at the supposed stop time to suddenly get overtaken because the time was extended with no notice.

@MagnificentToaster: I think the stressful situation of this plot has taken a toll on many members. We both want to win as a team, and while the trail part is fun and leaves people some space to breathe this drive is much less so. The lack of response from staff doesn't help either.
I know it's not intentional on staff's part, but still an extension to a tiring race like this only adds more oil to the already furious flame. I'm pretty angry myself now but have to hold it in lol. Just hope the clock for this would stop soon so we will have time to rest before the next trail.

@Anne They could have made a post. But could you imagine the comments that would have come under that post, when we've already seen what comes in posts like this alone? They made a decision and put it through, that was probably the best thing they could do under the circumstances. Here's hoping the glitches fade off and everyone can actually have fun with the event again and make it a friendly competition.
@MagnificentToaster
This drive is tiring and exhausting, like already mentioned. Information about the delay would be only fair. I know people who have worked so much - on both teams ! - and they just want to end this suffering. But nobody is going to stop. Technically, Gold won.

@Anne I don't think its for no reason. Honestly, I'm Team Steele and I'd think it just as unfair if there wasn't at least a little extension to try and make up for time lost during the down hours, if we were ahead and you guys weren't. And Team Gold can still donate, it's not like Team Steele is the only one that can and the donate button only works for us, so really it's benefiting Team Gold, too. You're 40k ahead so really a half hour isn't going to put a big dent in your Team's awesome comeback.
In the Netherlands it;s 23:45PM I have to sleep and I hope to understand or at least know more tomorrow. Alle the power to you whatever which team you join. zzzz
@Maskros @Anne
I agree that it should have ended at 24hrs like the previous event did, I'm just saying that people seem to be taking the extension a little more personally than they should. There was no end date/time specified for this event, so really, the 24hr thing was an assumption on our part (though yeah, it does make the most sense!)
I just don't think that it's really necessary to get angry. I doubt it's a deliberate move on the staff's part to screw Gold out of their hard-earned victory, or make people mad.

@MagnificentToaster: This whole drive thing is meant to be timed, so I think it's only fair if this drive should end just as the previous one did; that is, after 24 hours. Each team has plans and strategies to this donation thingy, so it's not really about both team being able to still donate, but it's more about extension screwing up a team's planned strategy for the said 24-hr deadline.
I hope if this is a glitch or a mistake, at least both team should hear something official from staff. Dedicated members of both teams stay up late for this, and the whole race is very tiring and exhausting, even expensive, so it'd be very unfair if this one got ignored as 'another unimportant glitch'.

I have made this topic, because it's now confusing.

Yeah, but it's unfair that Wesley was limited to 24 hours and Sephora's getting extended for no reason.

@Anne
It's not unusual for staff to be less than exact when initiating or terminating events. I imagine it's all done manually. This kind of "more-or-less 24 hours" thing happens all the time.
It would definitely be unfair if Team Blake was the only team still able to donate, but since Gold can still donate too until this ends I don't see how anyone actually has an advantage.

Can y'all please post some kind of update about why donations are still going? Is it an extension? A glitch?
I've stoped to donate items this isn't fair anymore. I want to win on a fair way not on an unfair way.
@SubetaTeam Please ended this event!
The most of u has join this event because Sephora is a nice person, but the event was for the rest not everybody's cup of tea.

The site was lagging when Wesley was up as well so why do you extend it now?
If you want Steele to win, simply let us know, thanks.

I'm not just saying that because I'm on Team Gold, but because if it was 24 hours before it should be 24 hours this time.

@Annet bc subeta's economy is broken... But I also hate hoarding events. I never hoarded anything and I think it's ridiculous an event where you have to donate as much as you can and spend a lot in the process. They could do things much better. Actually, I'm going to Suggestions forums to say that lol
@Ferinsy
I'm afraid you have got a point.
I'm not so for any kind item drive events. I don't see the fun in that kind of competitive way.
Why not a match between two teams who can defeat each other with the best eye openers by philosophy thoughts, touching poems and funny jokes or so?
Much cooler I think.

Seriously, can we have a lore-relating picture with some random NPC in lingerine on rollerblades in the background, pretty please?

@StarShadow because they like to torture us, apparently lol
Trail not working properly, 502's... That's what events are always about, anyways, right? But in past events they always gave us more time due to errors (like the snowballs war). With this one, they were unfortunate to make a tight cron like this: every 2 days IT HAS to reset and continue the On the Trail Part, and for the last day IT HAS to have a massive item sink... Even with the errors, well... "it's your problem, users, we have a schedule to follow".

well...I hope Sephora likes the undies, roller blades...and...platformed shoes? I donated...Im seeing some weird 80s jungle movie...where everyone on Team Saggi is wearing the tiger/leopard print undies and heels but are some how amazon people and survivalist...This amuses me...hmmm...
I have got the feeling some people make an item hoard for the case the will come a 3rth donation drive.
It would be so funny if there will come no donation drive anymore.
I hope so.

OMG this is so frustrating. I can't even get a few quests done because of the constant errors and crashes. Why hasn't this event been put on hold until the site is actually working?

In the beginning I think this plot was pretty even and fair to both sides, just depended on who was able to pull through faster. But the last day or so has been unfair to both sides, because neither team can compete to their full potential due to the site being down and errors. I honestly think that both teams should get the boost from the Sephora part of this event.
Finally reading the comments for this and some of the earlier comments are kind of funny, considering Team Gold is ahead now.
With that said, I agree there are more interesting things than donation drives. @User not found: _@

The amount that each team has done is pretty awesome, I gotta say. I'm pretty much tapped out now -- I think I burned through 12mil or so? -- but good job Team Gold for making such a comeback.
Haha I do really hope this is the last donation drive for a while though, I've donated so many thousands of items..

I don't get it. How is team gold suddenly gotten so far ahead with the constant error pages and site crashes? I've been having trouble just doing a few quests. Maybe this should be put on hold until people are actually able to buy/donate stuff.
Do we have an official time end for this event? Is it 3pm like the previous one, or 5pm since it started at 5pm yesterday?
I was donating as much as I could, but have to admit: the many crashes and errors made me basically stop trying. :c
I know you guys on the staff are working super hard on figuring out what's going on, and that's appreciated!
It's still a fantastic event and I'm having lots of fun, even with the errors. C:

Seeing 502 and 504 errors today on the event donation page and training school.
I have more doctor appointments in the morning so I won't be able to be here until later in the day. Until then I'll do what I can to help Team Saggi ^_^.

It said something like 'higher amounts/more frequently (possibly both)' implying it isn't just a 1 time increase.
Team Blake/Name TBD ;p has a benefit that is helping now. It was pretty well implied ours would be helping now or at least be happening now as a trade off for not having any help.
Even if staff didn't intend any of that/changed their minds/whatever, it would be nice to know that. There's a FAQ and staff clarifications on all the other points throughout c:
