It may be hard to adhere to that last part, after such a year especially. But we will remember, and we will learn from and love what we've been given by people that we may never have met, but touched our hearts and lives none the less.

I lost my Gran on sept. 25. I lost my Mom on Sept. 28. Put my Mom's old dog Sandy down the following Monday as she could hardly move and she was in a lot of pain. I lost my Aunt Bev on Dec. 13. I lost my PopPop on Dec 19. I lost a friend on Dec. 21.

I am in the middle of her book Wishful Drinking and she was such a funny and outspoken woman who was brutally honest about the struggles she faced and her outlook on them. A heartbreaking loss for so very many reasons.
thanks for this. it was a real shock to read the headline earlier, especially since the latest updates said she was in a stable condition, and i'd let myself hope that she'd be fine.

2016 had to claim one more irreplaceable person before it ended. So sad to see her go so soon.
Rest in peace. You were a role model for me and many suffering with difficulties throughout their lives. We'll all miss you.
"Why, You Stuck Up, Half-Witted, Scruffy-Looking, Nerf-Herder!" Princess Leia was such a great role model. I was so sad to hear of Carrie's passing today. I am ready for 2016 to be over once and for all.
I've been at work all day working hard not to cry. This is not helping in that endeavor but it's a beautiful and touching tribute to an amazing woman who inspired so many of us.
