User Contest: Great Subetan Bake Off
What’s a month celebrating food without including a good food competition? No, it’s not about how many hotdogs you can swallow…although that would be amazing…We’d like to see some creative bakes! Whether it be real life cakes and treats that you photograph, or beautifully drawn designs on paper or digitally drawn, or even your best ideas made out of craft tape and wire cleaners - we’d love to see your creativity.
- Designs should be ‘sweet’ baked goods - cakes, cookies, pastries, and pies.
- Your design must be ’fast food’ themed. That could mean it’s on roller skates or looks like a burger and fries or is even covered in sheeta spots. Be creative!
- Don’t get too detailed. Remember, if your design wins it will be made into an onsite item, and lots of tiny details won’t show up.
- Include a description (500 characters or fewer) that you would want to be used for the on-site item should your cake win.
- Have fun!
You can submit your design until 11:59pm on June 21st. After that, staff will remove any entries not adhering to guidelines and display the qualifying entries to be voted on by the users. The top three favorite entries will have their baked goods drawn up as official Subeta items, receive 2,500 CSC, and get a copy of their item! The items will then be available to be baked at Fantine’s bakery.

I have artistic skills when baking but lately its been too hot to bake and I'm not talented when it comes to the other artistic skills a 7 year old can draw better than me.
I have an idea for this, but my art skills are almost nonexistent :(
And I can't bake my idea, that also would require art skills I do not have, lol

Can you include a reference picture in case some people don't know what fast food item you are basing the desert after?

I can't do most kinds of art, but i can bake. I hope they decide to add a title for winning though.
I didn't see any mention of a participation award, title, etc. so not sure if I want to take the time to try. Will have to think about it.

I stand no chance of winning, so no participation prizes mean y'all won't be subjected to some Frankenstein of an entry trying to work balloons into the required "fast food baked goods" design.

This is a really cool contest. Haha, If I had cake decorating skills I would even try to bake a real version of my submission.

Kinda glad there are no participation prizes, tbh. Hopefully it will discourage some of the blatantly junk submissions like we got during the Oatmeal thing.

Oh, I got excited for a second that it was about making a recipe meshing fast food and baked goods together, like a maple bacon donut. But no, it's about making things look pretty.

I am super excited because I love food items, but feel this is also another contest when those with actual artistic skills will prevail over all others when it comes to open voting. It'd be nice to have maybe 1 winner based on user votes, and 2 winners voted on by staff based on concept...

Though I do hope it's true that "staff will remove any entries not adhering to guidelines and display the qualifying entries to be voted on by the users" - I wouldn't want to see a repeat of Oatmeal's house contest where there were stock photos and other such things being submitted :(
Please tell we we're going to have Maybel judging the entries and making all kinds of accidental innuendo. That would be gold.
Sadly I started sculpting a thing and it wasn't going to dry in time, or even look good, so I quickly drew a thing.
