I'm a 1987 child, so I had a mini popple. It was purple and pink. I was one of those boys who played with everything from dinosaur toys and hotwheels, to my little pony and well...popples, haha. For some reason my mom always brought out the popples at Christmas time. My brother had a blue one that he pretended was a "baby opossum", hunted it, and roasted it on a spit for his soldier toys to eat. Poor popple! Mine always went on adventures and tried to rescue the blue popple from certain death! My brother and I would get into fist fights over this sort of thing. He would win. I would try again later, lol. That is, until he reached 6' and I stopped growing at 5'2". After that I learned to be diplomatic! ;)

Omg! Talk about a blast from the past!! Wish I still had my Popple. I soooo need this pet in my life and I am going to get one!
I still have all three of my Popples. I used to take the orange one on any trips that my parents and I went on while in Germany when my Snoopy was in the "pet hospital" aka mom's sewing room needing to be patched up again for the umptenth time. My mom even made me a small purple one (it didn't roll into a ball). They were one of my favorite stuffed animals.

The art is really cute. This is where two things in my childhood ended up with me not knowing what a Popple is. One: I had two older brothers who controlled what I watched. Two: Because of them I grew up as a tomboy. My toys and cartoons veered more into TMNT, GI Joe, and various other "boy cartoons".
One year I wanted a Popple for Christmas... but Popples weren't cheap and no one had much money in those days. I wanted Pretty Bit or Potato Chip, but instead I got some green thing whose name (Putter - see it wasn't even cute! says seven year old me) I'd never even heard, and I was so disappointed. But I faked it for my aunt (who always got me the best presents, the ones my mom couldn't afford) and Putter eventually made a name for himself with the rest of my toys. I learned to appreciate him in time. Good ole Putter.
