Never wanted one of these before, but this is very cool. Wish we'd get an event to earn more pet slots. Also still watching for a chibi blob.
What a beautiful salty Qrykee!! Now Merana, when we gonna do something about the hydrus Blob? Maybe a.....Blobfish? :D
I wish I liked the Qrykee more lol. The artwork is lovely, but the species in general just looks like a dog's squeaky toy to me and I can't get over the fins lol. They irk me.

Yea, it's no problem! And you're right, not everybody has to like every single pet or pet color that is released. Sorry if my response seemed condescending, just wanted to clear that bit of confusion up on what you (and others) might be seeing with the jaw! There's also some slight foreshortening and foreshortening always looks a tad bit strange.

Indeed, your outline doesn't show any bend on the lower jaw. Maybe its the horns and the right leg underneath, I don't know. It just looks awkward. Altogether clumsy and not fierce at all. But not everybody needs to like every pet and I'm happy with common.

i... have to agree. i couldn't place it earlier but your comment is what rings truest to me. it kind of looks like a rubber pool floaty lol. like, it's rounded and appears slightly squishy, even in the teeth? i'm looking for some sharper features and they aren't quite there. otherwise, i like the art overall.

I think it's just the angle of the jaws that gives it the illusion that it's bended, but on further inspection, the jaws are fine. Pardon my crude redline/outline of the skull.
Gator, crocodile, and caiman's skulls all have 'ridges/curves' along the top and bottom jaw and the combination of said ridges and the angle of the mouth probably gave the impression that the jaw is bent.

On reading the headline I was afraid, I would be torn between turning my common one Hydrus or keeping. I'm not. Croc/Gator lower jaws are not bendable, it has a pretty dumb look now. The pose is not appealing nor are the legs. :-( Merana, you have disappointed me!
